Friends,

Some of you may have had an inkling but it's time I made it official.

I am taking an extended leave of absence from Star Wars Galaxies. Oddly I had just reupped for another two months, so I may still stop by and say hi from time to time, and will still be around the forums.

My career has taken a huge turn for the better with my employer, my family life is wonderful and I can honestly say I am as happy as I have been in sometime. My kids are growing up in front of my eyes, and I want to savor what I can. I just haven't had the time of late to dedicate to SWG that I have for the last 2 plus years. It's been a great run, and you folks have made my first foray into the world of online gaming one of the best experiences I've had.

The Ranger community is the best community in this game despite the internal differences over the direction of Ranger. I had the great pleasure of training our Correspondent to Master Ranger on Lowca, and have been playing since beta 3. I've seen a lot of changes to the game and to Ranger for good or ill, and I look forward to returning after a while to new and exciting changes. No I'm not quitting, and no you can't have my stuff.

As we are fond of saying, Ranger is a lifestyle. Enjoy the profession as it is now, and enjoy as it will be....I'll still be watching and commenting.

Draknev, Calc, Paks, JB, Phenix, Owen, Nem0, AragornSOS, Fred Skinner, Ebe, and others I may have missed, albeit unintentionally....

Thank you for making this community what it is and continues to be, and for being the types of Ranger that makes others keep playing it. You folks have been around as long as I, and I've greatly enjoyed getting to know you here.

Its true.

Oppma trained me in Oct/ Nov of '03 in the skill of master ranger, and he has been there for me through thick, thin and my leave of absense.

You've always been my hunting partner, friend (even though you make fun of my music)

there's always a spot near the fire for ya bud...

and dont worry, for an experienced hunter like you, endor can be a nice vacation.

I'll keep the hearth warm for you bud.

Iconic professions. Ok. Chewbacca was a Scout. How come that didn't stay?

When you think about it, aren't almost all of the original professions iconic? You can find something on each of them in the Expanded Universe.

I miss being a Ranger. It was more than a profession, it was a virtual way of life. It wasn't for everyone. But those who took it up became family.

Sorry to see you go, man. You've been a positive member of this community for a while, and though we mayh not have agreed on everything (though I do think we agreed on a lot of things), you were always able to express yourself in a way that didn't rub me the wrong way. I hope that you continue to post (and to bother Calc) during your absense. But so long as everything else in your life is going so well, I suppose you're leaving for good reasons. Best of luck to you in all other aspects of your life.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

We can't exactly be sad with a such a summary of the great home/work/all around life laid out like that.

I'm glad you are doing so well, and I am sure we'll see you again sometime. Or Drak will keep us updated.
