Thread: So...How do YOU play the ranger prof....?

hi all, just wondered how some of you play the ranger prof....
do you just go hunting all the timefor hide and make money...
do you hire yourself out for tracking purposes....
do you use the ranger prof for looting purposes...
do you play the ranger prof to play a specific role in group hunting....
do you play the ranger prof for RP occasions etc....
these are just some of the roles i can think of for the ranger prof....how do YOU play the ranger life?

Ranger just suits my playstyle. I like to go hunting, but more for the fun of it or the challenge rather than to fill a contract. Exploring is also a big thing for me, I like to go wanering, finding odd places or stubeling over PIO's and dropping a Camp from time to time. Also, I've been addicted ever since I've picked up Scout and I'm just too stubborn to drop it; in nearly 2 years I never managed to master Ranger, but always had a blast trying to do so. Anyhow, that's just me

do you just go hunting all the time for hide and make money... Certainly, usually keeping my BE happy
do you hire yourself out for tracking purposes.... When Knight trails I was, there were times Graul lairs made me rich
do you use the ranger prof for looting purposes... Bone, hide, meat and milk always
do you play the ranger prof to play a specific role in group hunting.... Not in SWG, take mission kil kil kill and harvest so far in groups
do you play the ranger prof for RP occasions etc.... Actually no one cares aboutRP as a part of SWG, no one cares about it

haha thats exactly the same way/reason i play ranger and i still am one....
i dont even do the FS crap cuz it means i would have to drop ranger and i dont want to

I liked the ranger Profession so much when i started I made my alt a master Ranger /Master pikeman. I have Hired my self out a to find people, creatures , and NPC's . I have taken contracts on meats , hides,bones and milk. I Roll play the loner with him, and just have a few contacts, My alt Jedi recommends him to others with out ever devulging he is an alt. He collects bones,hides and meats for grinder friends , ussually for free.Ranger is the one profession that so far is just very relaxing to play, Just keep collecting resourses, sell resourses at a fair price.
Ranger is the one profession that should have more bonuses to solo hunting , Rangers are loners in my book.
So if you need a Ranger on Flurry look up Daffy-

I always enjoyed playing a Ranger because I felt that the skillset, along with my own playstyle, gave me a unique edge in anything I was doing.
I was capable of tracking down beasts, I was equipped for taking them down, and I was ready for just about any PvE situation I came across.
My Ranger / Rifleman used to regularly solo the Corvettes to help folks get badges. I could move pretty effortlessly through the instance with little trouble. (only in part due to ranger skills... mostly just skills I'd picked up while playing the Ranger role.)
I've always liked the role of a stalking prey ... with decent time invested I could take on most foes and it was fun.
Now I don't use my skills as much though. The CU kind of broke my back when it came to Ranger. I still love the profession but I really can't wait to see it pick up some better, more useful skills.

I love playing my Ranger/CH. Hunting for creatures to tame. Setting up camp in remote placesto relax with my pets after a hard day of hunting/taming. Gathering resources for friends. To get away from the hussle-bussle of the busy cities.

What you mean to say is that on Eclipse server no one cares about RP right? My server, Naritus, has a strong and growning RP comunity as do several of the other servers I have visited.
In answer to the thread question, I am picking of ranger again, because post revamp, it will fit my RP profile better then my old templet did and having my templet fit my RP is importian to me.

I agree. However, I use my abilities to protect Reb Jedi from neut or Imp bounty hunters. That REALLY makes my bounty hunter ALT mad, but...ah well.

d) all of the above....except for the monkey part, neve much cared about it, I live in the wild so I never needed it.
I have allways use whatever skills I have (when they work) from both MRanger and TKM. I have hunted every creature and anti -faction NPCin game, I solo'd them all but themost elite mobs (I am experienced enough to take a group when needed).
Yes I am a master of the wilderness, and a special forces troop. Ihope I can keep Master Scout (without droping tkm for carbines), so after the revamp I can still be both.
