Can factories be used to mass produce Ranger camps/traps?

I tried using a friends factory to do this but I'm missing the key page for creating a schmetic or something. Has anyone done this if so could you clarify??

Thanks

All Ranger craft items can be made in an Equipment factory. I carry crates of HT Bases, Basic Camps, Phec Darts, Adhesive Meshes and camo kits myself.

Use a crafting station to make a schematic for your item -- you'll get an option to make the schematic instead of the prototype item just before the final combine. If you're making camo kits you'll get to experiment to increase the number of charges first.

If you are not used to making factory runs of items, remember that the schematic will require the exact components used to make it. IE, if you're making HT Bases and you use Fred hides, Barney bones and Wilma steel, you'll need enough Fred, Barney and Wilma to make however many camps you want, in addition to what it took to make the schematic.

Yeah - once you make camps and traps in a factory you'll never hand-craft one again.

You need:
- a Weapon, Droid, General Crafting Tool (instead of the Generic Crafting Tool that you've been using)
- stand near a Weapon, Droid, General Crafting Station (in town or in someone's house)
- all of the *same* material for N+1 camps (e.g., if you want to make 100 Basic Camp Kits, you need to have a stack of (10 * 101) of the same hide)
- start to make the camp as you normally would (e.g., select resources, etc) - toward the end you get a dialog box with at least 2 options - "Create a Prototype" and "Create a Schematic"
- choose "Create a Schematic" and either put in N (e.g., 100) for the number or leave it at 1000 (more on this later)
- the schematic is now in your datapad
- go to an equipment factory where you have admin access, put the resources (hide, bone, metal, etc) into the input hopper, put your schematic into the schematic slot (all of this via the radial menu on the factory), and turn it on
- 1-4 hours later you will have crates of camps (25 items / crate for camps)

The factory will run until either the counter in the schematic runs down to zero or the resources are exhausted. So if you want to only make N (like 100) and not use up all the resources, then set it to 100 when you first make the schematic. Alternitively you can just put enough of a particlar resource in to make 100 units - in which case you could leave the limit at 1000. Or leave it at 1000 and just have it eat as much of the resources that you have dumped in.

As I say, you'll never go back. I haven't hand-crafted a trap or camp in months.

One note to this...if you are doing camo kits, I would recommend spending the money to purchase your own private crafting station. You can get a 98% effective station rather than the less effective public stations. I only mention them for camo kits because you can actually experiment on them. Just my 2 cents.

I would like to mention that there are no 98% effectiveness crafting stations. The best ones produced by crafters now can have effectiveness rating up to 43.xx%

By the way, I had no idea that you can experiment on camouflage kits. Can you also experiment on traps?

I want to check my sources before I responded and opened mouth and inserted foot since there is no delete

When you are talking about 43, you are talking about the rating of the crafting station, not the percentage. However, here is where the fun comes in. No one knows for sure what the real max is for the stations. There is a debate over 45 and 50 and the devs or TH have not commented. I personally believe it is 45 based on what I have read so a station with a rating of 43 would be around 96% effective or 86% if you are in the 50 max camp.

Hope this helps!

When we make these things from the factories, do we get the XP for making them? Also, whatever happened to someone gaining user XP from their products used by others!?!

  • Factory XP is bugged...you can read more about on the Artisans board. Just as a note, even when it is fixed, it is only 1/10 of the XP you get when crafting yourself.

  • Hereis agood paragraph taken from the Artisans boards talking about the types of crafting xp.

So, now its time to advance to the likes of Master Artisan and above. The question is how. The first thing you need to understand is xp (experience) types. The first type of xp is CXP (crafter experience). This is equal to the resource cost of the item you are making time 2. So an item that required 40 resources would give you 80 xp. You get this CXP each time you successfully craft an item. Easy right? The second type of xp is UXP (user based experience). This is xp that you gain when someone other then you uses an item. So, if I sold or gave a pistol to another person and they used it I would start gaining UXP. You will continue to gain UXP as long as a person continues to use an item until you have gained the equivalent xp as you got for crafting the item. So if the CXP of an item is 80, you will keep getting UXP while a person is using your item until you get another 80 xp.

Thanks for all the info. Its been a great help.

My next question is that I have Ranger 3440 and I want to mass produce all the camps and Traps from basic ranger down.

Is anyone else doin this and is there a resonable price I should charge?

And for that, you may want to check this thread:

Actually, that is quite funny because that thread has a link to this one.
