Thread: I know im going to get flammed but this is my opinion

First thing is I'm not flamming you.
Second is They are *saying* that only certain items are stealable in pvp. Altough i have a feeling that down the line this will somehow become broke and everything will be stealable till they fix it. but one thing I've noticed with the Plans for this revamp is people see the role in different lights. Yiu are seeing it as a Theif role, which is perfectly fine. The devs on the other hand are seeing it as a spy type of role. Others see it as a gurilla warfare role. Not quite sure if this revamp got done what i wanted it to do, which is give ranger a deffinate role. The way it looks on paper is it can be played several different ways.

Geez, read the Dev responses.
Stealing in PVP is going to be limited to additional content that wouldn't exist if the machanic wasn't introduced. You are losing nothing.

First of all, find an internet search engine and type in "star wars" followed by "ranger" then read what you find. They are star wars rangers, and since this is a game set in the star wars universe we are being turned into star wars esque rangers. These special mission things you are worried about ARE SUPPOSSED to be stealable. As you the mission sounds like it requires you to transport stealable items without them being stolen.
The use of the term "thief" isn't all that accurate. Rangers will be using stealth to steal things like mission-specific plans and other items. They won't be running around town stealing credits and valuables.
I still think it will be a mechanic more useful for the GCW.
Imagine capture the flag where you actually COULD capture the flag. Imagine base takedowns where you have to carry an access card to enter the base and the access cards are what are set 'STEAL' able. Imagine rebels being able to lift intellegence from Imperial officers about troop movements that despawn 20% of the planets Imps and helps tip the balance for which faction 'owns' the planet.
It may be way too early and it may be pre-emptive but you have to challenge yourself to stop seeing an idea in it's infant form and then using a largely derrogative term to stereotype it. It's been repeatedly stated by devs and players who have read the devs comprehensively that 'thief' is completely misleading in the vision and that 'agent prevovatuer' or 'spy' is far more appropriate for what is going to be developed.
As stated - no-one is going to steal your credits or adk's and no-one is going to rob your 'phat lewt' drops from npc's before you can loot. It's additional content - probably primarily geared towards a (re)blossoming GCW. Greater depth of gameplay is generally regarded as a good thing - the 'fix all the bugs' naysayers notwithstanding.

this isnt a flame its to try and help you understand (which is probably impossible cuz it seems like whenever there is change every1 finds something, anything, to whine about)
rangers are not turning into thiefs or smugglers
smugglers=people who transport illicit or legal materials by illict means for a profit ussualy a good one
thieves=people who steal stuff
ranger=stealthy, rangers by rangers i mean the rangers of the ranger school at fort benning georgia in world war 2 they were highly trained in outdoor survival or SEE(survival escape and evasion)
survival-what you already have
escape-you can already run fast
evasion-there cahsing you and one stops "Sir, is that a proximity mine?' "no of course not" *Bang* "LT. call for back up we just lost five guys"
to sum it up dont complain this is awesome man (if it works)
