Thread: Is there any way to turn on a feature that puts a compass on the screen?

Whenever I track it tells me say " 225m NE". but now i have to open up the big map and see which way NE is. Is there a feature somewhere that i can turn on to put a compass on the mini map or something so i dont have to hit cntrl+v ?

I will resist the overwhelming urge to rip on you for this and I will be constructive.


On the mini map (that little circular thing that has the red and yellow dots on it) do you see the little arrow thats on one side of the circle and a small dot on the other opposite side? The arrow indicates North and the small dot indicates South. I think you can figure out the rest.

How can anyone be a scout, never mind Ranger, and not realize there is a compass rose on the screen??


I can forgive people for not knowing how to read the compass, but not knowing it's there is a sad commentary on your observational skills.

I think my compass is broken. I still seem to go east when I want to go west. I also tilt my head to read it. The title, "Lost Ranger" seems to fit. Funny thing is, there are alot of Rangers that get lost frequently. /ponder

hehe - this took me forever too - I mean I knew it was a compass, but it was only after I started using areatrack all the time that I finally grokked which side of it was east and which side of it was west. Man, you should have seen the disaster that was my attempt at RL scouting....

I understand not knowing how to read the stupid compass, I forever would go the wrong way (hence the nick name I aquired "wrong way") glad you figured it out

i'm just glad someone else has learned the verb "grok". I feel like a tool using it in conversation.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.
