Took my alt (hunting 4) out with a ranger friend (tracking 4) to test the new harvesting bonuses. We each had a harvesting droid (109 and 110 ratings), but we weren't too impressed with the results we got. We put them away and harvested a huurton stalker by "hand." 118 units of hide for me, 144 for her. We killed another one and used the droids again. 64 for me, 79 for her. Killed another and grouped the droids with us. 64 for me, 79 for her. Sent the droids back to the datapad in a hurry and killed another stalker. 118 for me, 144 for her.

Anyone know if this is on purpose or were droids just overlooked? You don't get the group-harvesting-bonus or ranger-bonus system message using the droids like you do when you harvest yourself.

Just out of interest, what were you getting when using your droids ungrouped?

Arrrg. We had those droids too and didnt try them out. DOh!! Here is the beginning of a focus thread on the DE forum.

We had veghash too and didnt try it... would probably be useful.

64 for me, 79 for her without grouping the droid.

I think combat medic meant while using the droid solo (and ungrouped with each other).

Well, now I have to go find another stalker! BRB.

Okay, we each killed a huurton howler solo. I harvested with my 109 rated droid and got 65. She killed hers and harvested with a 110 droid getting 85 units. We grouped again and killed the respawn. Harvested using the droids (which were not grouped with us because it didn't make any difference before), and I got 38 units and she got 47. It seems like the droids are still playing by the old rules.

I'm working on getting this nailed down... but I need numbers/patterns. Try to get me numbers from every possible situation (you in a group, not in a group, the droid in the group, not in the group, in a group but not near another ranger, etc). I would also like some information on the droids performance in relation to the new master ranger harvesting skill bonus. Mainly, you and the droid alone (not grouped up), who harvests more, the droid or a master ranger. I know if the ranger's skill bonus gets too far above the droids there will be a negative harvest bonus. Try with and without veghash as well if you can.

Just a quick observation about droids:-

I've just done a quick test using my +76 droid. Stacked with veghash my droid pulled 301 units meat off a kamurith defiler (level 50). When i did it myself i got 309. It's not really a big difference I think you'll agree.On lower level stuff (level 25) my droid was consistently pulling only 1 unit less than me. Before the new Master bonus this droid consistently harvested at least the same as me, sometimes a little more, never less. I don't think I will be changing my playstyle for the sake of8 units on high level critters, or 1 unit on lesser stuff.

I am a Master Ranger and was not grouped. I tried again grouped with my droid and there was no change.

Ok, thats about what I'd expect from a 76 rated droid, hopefully that means that the higher end 105 or so droids are sitll harvesting at a higher level, though I'd still like to see some data from higher droid levels to confirm that.
