Thread: best source for wolly hide
I am have an order from my PA armor smith to gather a few thosand wooly hides. Can you guys make some suggestions on what to hunt that give superior quality woolies? I am specifically intrested in beasts that give hides of the quality most useful to armor smiths and come in about 100/harvest increments. I do not care what planet it is on. I will travel. 8)
As for quantity, giant peko-pekos give quite a few wooly hides, and the tougher banthas aren't too shabby either.
I typically get wooly from Banthas, also Mamiens on Yavin IV give it, both are non-aggro non-social.
from my personal experience ive found that pound for pound dune and feral banthas are the best source for Woolys while solo hunting. they arent social and they are easy to kite. last night i killed enough of them to get 8000 Wooly hides and i didnt take a single wound or point of BF.

I rounded up in one weekend several thousand wooly hides, hunting crazed durmis on Corellia. They were of very high quality.I took missions for them each lair provided about 120 hide. I know it sounds small but I ran 120 missions in one weekend each was worth 1k or more in payment. I rounded up over 10k units of wooly hide and turned around and sold those for a pre agreed amount to an armor smith. One weekend of work netted me over 200k creds and a huge amount of scouting, weapon, and combat xp and very little personal damage
