Thread: New To Ranger.... Can you help me be all i can be?
Traps: Phecnacine, Phenacie, or however you spell it, is the only 'working' trap right now. It requires hide, bone, and metal. It slows the target's movement speed for a short time, but there is a nice little bug that is being removed in publish 17 that when you stick a second p-dart on a creature before the first one runs out, the creature will just stand there and not move / attack except with ranged attacks possibly.
Camo: Camo is horribly bugged right now. The checks being made against it, even at Master Ranger with skill enhancing clothing / attachments, continuously break it. You would be better off using mask scent, in my opinion. It lasts for 30 minutes, and can be applied to yourself and others by using the "conceal" command that you can place within your toolbar. However, an imperial friend of mine could not continue the quest for a polished krayt skull because the person he was supposed to meet for Borvo the hutt's henchman would always attack him (because he was imperial, even though he was on leave." I applied camo to him, and he was able to finish the quest without the npc aggroing on him.
Area track: This is what Jedi ask you the most for. It also helps very much when doing quests that involve killing certain creatures, or finding a certain npc. That's pretty much it, except if you want to avoid certain npcs (like nightsisters on Dathomir) you can area track from time to time to find out which directions to avoid.
Course we won't 'hate' you because your a respec ranger, ultimately you have made the decision to come join our ranks and are doing what a lot of us wishwe'd done when we first took Novice Ranger and that's asking the old hands how best to get on in the prof.
At a time when it feels like so many of those old hands are respec'ing OUT of the profession, I've got to ask what drew you to Ranger? Partly out of curiousity and partly because that's what's going to help guide you in unleashing your Ranger Within
Do you like to hunt? Do you maybe prefer to explore? Are you a closet stalker and just like the idea of being able to track players and NPC's.... Or was it the HTFB that did it for you? (A heck of a lot of rangers became rangers because they say an HTFB at an early stage in their game and thought "oh man, I have GOT to get me one of those...")

i Became a ranger for two reasons. one i thought it looked cool as heck. I want to track and stalk my prey.While im wearing planet camo, i want to hit it with some traps and mess it up. Thenas my group rests... pull out a huge camp 2. is for the scouting xp to help with the jedi grind. But its like 75% the first one and 25% the second one
Learn to type, don't use L33tspeak and spell out the words you really want to say. Also, don't use freaking caps in your message titles like you did on another post, it's rude and gets you flamed. This is not the BH forum, we are at least semi-literate here. You would do better to fit in and type like a human. Try it and watch and see how many more answers you would get. Reading that crap you posted gave me a headache.

Well see, that's the million dollar question now isn't it. All I can tell ya Pile is we've been waiting a while... I expect that we will continue to wait and wouldn't be surprised if it isn't december or later.I think the order is Jedi/Smuggler/BountyHunter/Jedi/Squad Leader/Jedi/Ranger
