If 2 rangers who don't know each other were to meet on a battlefield, one rebel and one imperial, what happens?
Do they /salute, choose other targets and get on with things, or
Do they /salute and duel with honor, or
Do they not pay attention to the other ranger and mow him/her down without regard for our fraternal bonds?
I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks. I'd choose to /salute, turn around and find another target to fight with. There is enough war in the universe without rangers killing their own.

I personally don't kill other rangers, as long as they have a ranger title above them.

Thank god this is only a hypothetical and would never happen
On a side note, I doubt there are many Imperial Rangers, since it's not a combat class. Most Imperials seem eager to PvP, so any Ranger in the template would just dilute the killing power.

I know many Imperial Rangers, and we do /salute
. I'm not altogether certain that they know that I'm a Rebel, however

/salute, greet them in a friendly way, find an out of the way corner and make camp, sit shoot the breeze about hunting, shifts, good stories. Wish him/her well and good hunting. Go back to buisness at hand

I am sooo with her. There are so few of us and we are such a close knit community, I think it would be like taking up arms against your own kin.

I avoid the dilema by not engaging in PvP
. I stink at it anyway..I get the 'chicken-with-my-head-cut-off' syndrome when the poop hits the fan.

The few times ive been overt, and crossed paths (well, the one time) we chose not to fight. However... if the other ranger would have fired first, then game on.
If I see an overt Master Ranger, then I know he or she is not some combat stacked uber fighter, and we would generally be on the same footing combat wise.
I would fight, I would not deathblow....

One time I was out hunting some Storm Troopers with a friend. An imperial player comes along and defeats the two of us (it was fair--we were not prepared for PvP, he was). My friend gets Deathblowed. I'm expecting the same but I get a /salute followed by a request that I reconsider my affiliations. He was a Master Ranger as well (he also said that he would not have attacked me had he noticed the Master Ranger tag first but couldn't take the risk after the fight was underway). Respect isn't required but it is there anyway.

Imp Ranger here.
I think it all depends on the circumstances. Generally I just like seeing another Ranger so I would not fire, however, if he fires first.... PvP is on. I would not be opposed to a friendly duel however, but no deathblow if things remain polite.

wow. I think I expected these kinds of responses from y'all. You gotta love a group of players whose friendship and mutual respect for each other transcends their political lines.
Kudos all around!
If I'm ever overt, I hope one of you guys are the ones I run into first.
/salute

since I suck at PvP, because most of my skill points are in a non combat oriented Lifestyle. I don't go overt if I can help it, but sometimes I do get scanned, and bad things happen. Now in that particular circumstance if someone were to fire on me first then game on, other wise I look to go into the wilds to hide for a good long while after I see a recruiter to get back covert.

Ranger, it's a lifestyle not a profession.
