As the name implies, I want to do a little video, music video to be precise, dedicated to the galaxies Rangers. I have FRAPs running and I am editing on Premiere, so yes, I have the means to do it. Now I just need a bit of your time. I want to include as many of the galaxies Rangers in this as possible. I want to capture you all doing what it is that you do best. Be it trapping creatures, sniping Rancors, or just fishing from the luxury of your HTFB. I want to see it all.

I want your input as well. I have yet do decide what song I will use for the background music of this video, but here are some of the ones I have been playing with so far....

1. Spencer Davis Group--Gimme Some Lovin'

2. Staind--So Far Away

3. Kid Rock--Lonely Road of Faith

4. Whitesnake--Here I Go Again

5. Aerosmith--Livin' on the Edge

6. Rage Against the Machine--People of the Sun

All of those seemed to work fairly well with the footage I have so far, but some more ideas are welcome. I will be planning visits to all the galaxies to get footage of the resident Rangers, but I insist on getting footage of the Ranger vets from the forums here.

Sounds like a fun idea. We'll have to get the next Great Ranger Hunt into there somehow.

how would i do this? This will be a new thing for me, so I may need a walkthrough

Loreena McKennitt ~ Mummer's Dance

It's the one on Solder where they kick him out of the colony and he has to live out in the "desert" on his own... before the new guys show up and start attacking the colony. It's partually played as they do a time-lapse of the sky.

I like "people of the sun" as a song. Kickin' tune.

Then again, that might come off as a little weird, even for the Rangers, so I'd say perhaps one of the other songs. I like the inclusion of Rage though.

Perhaps consider a few other ideas:

Road Trippin' --The Red Hot Chili Peppers - good, relaxing Jam.

Rain King -- Counting Crows.

Runaway -- Linkin Park (I'm including this one since this is basically how I have to do my combat)

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

We have got to have a group fishing event on the Wanderhome server for this.

It would be awesome to see that. lol

BTW, if you are running FRAPS at the same time I am wondering how it runs for you and what kind of system you are running.

That's the plan. I want to get footage from another Great Ranger Hunt for the video.

Glad to have you aboard on this. Basically, you just do your thing, same as always. I just follow you around and get the angles on the shots I want and record them through FRAPs. Very simple.

Got thatsong already. Didn't think to try it though. I'll give it a try tonight and see how it works. Thanks Fred.

Thanks for the feedback bud. As a song, "People of the Sun" just rocks and it is an interesting background piece, but I agree, it may not work for the video. I would love to use a Rage song, but I'll have to play around and see what works the best. Thanks for the input on the other songs. I will download them tonight and give them a look see.

A group fishing event sounds like a great idea and perhaps something we can do at the next Great Ranger meet. I would like to set a date for that too so I can get the footage and start editing.

FRAPS runs just fine for me and I have captured some great video thus far, with no video degradation at all. I am running on a P4 2.8 800mhz FSB with hyperthreading. I have 1gig of Ram and my video card is the GeForce 4 Ti4200.
