Can anybody who has decided to sell camo kits please tell me if sales have been good/bad?

I run a well stocked, well marketed, and well known vendor with prices on camo kits that really are too low right now and should be higher.

Since patch 17, I have sold......

wait for it.....

1 crate of Dath camo kits!

lol. Cryos, that sounds about par for the course. I have found on Scylla that the Dantooine sell pretty good. Still.....nothing to write home about.

I had about 25k of Dathomir Leather in stock when the change came and so when out with a guildmate to Dathomir to help here finish up Master Pistoleer and collect a few of the other resources. I ran up about eighteen kits of eleven use camo and put them on the bazaar at the outpost for 5,000 each. All of them sold in just a couple of days. I've sent emails to a few of buyers asking how they were working for them, I'll let you know what they say.

Even though those running the Village Express on Dathomir may well be willing to pay the most, I next plan on working up kits for crafters on the starter planets and supply them tothe crafters that I do business with before putting them on the bazaar. I've also gotten the Kashyyyk camo schematic and made up a few dozen kits, but those I've just been giving away to other quester on Kashyyyk that I have run across (got my LD-1 night before last).

A couple of other things I have noticed about camo since the change. For one it no longer breaks at all when I am detected by a creature. Every kit of Kashyyyk camo I have used, effective or not, has lasted thirty-eight minutes. Also, camo no longer seems to be giving Scout XP. Mastscent on Kashyyyk is still giving XP equal to three times the creatures level, as always, but when camo'ed I see no XP being generated at all whereas before it granted XP equal to twice the creature's level. Lastly, has anyone noticed that you can now apply camo while mounted or in a vehicle? You can even camo the passengers in your speeder.

Good hunting and clear skies

I had a request for a few crates of Dant & Tat kits. I agreed, with the price set at 1k per use. So I ran the crates and still they sit. My guess is he got a better price elsewhere or came to his senses.

But my worst nightmare has been realized. There is, at this moment, a Master Ranger in all his tagged glory standing in the DantooineMining Outpost, AFK hawking his camo kits on Shadowfire.

Oh the humanity.

I dont think the demand is there..for the most part the people who are most likely to 'need' camo kits have been living without them since the game began, and really dont care all that much.

All a CL1 crafter needs to do is be grouped w/ a CL80 and all their worries are over. (not to mention the fact the the BIG harvester farms are operated by people with multiple accounts, and are very likley to have a static harvester farm, and a combat toon to go do the checkups)

Add on the fact that harvs can be maintained from the back of a swoop, and the fact that only a tiny fraction of the harvest owners drop them on adventure world, well I think you could wait a long long time to sell out of camo. Its just not a 'necessity'.

Now add on the fact you can join others in their speeder for a lift to the Village, again, dont need the camo.

Its only got one real application, and thats if you are grinding and are worried about nearby spawns aggroing. (and considering how often camo breaks for a Master Ranger, having it on a CL54 with no camo mods themselves, well, they will prolly burn up those kits fast. (fast enought to where they arent useful)

I think it is a waste of time and effort to sell camo kits. If people want the full benefit of them, then they need a ranger to apply them. Besides, I'll make more money harvesting resources for people or tracking down MOBs and PCs for people than I will selling camo kits. Now, if a camo kit actually made you drop off the radar for a short period of time, then THAT would be worth it.

I went through roughly forty or fifty uses of Dathomir camo kits last night alone, driving around Dathomir. Trust me, they're still breaking, and still causing agro--at least on Dathomir. Maybe the Kashyyyk one is coded differently.

Sadly, I don't see that happening anymore. I can't imagine that camo kits -that can be used by anyone with no SP requirements -will be allowed to drop anyone off the radar.

Now that you've said that, they'll probably code it in.

Theres really no need for em anymore. After the CU, and now with the new "greys don't agro" code, 99% of the stuff in the game ignores level 80s.

I have a vendor stocked with all the kits. I just opened the vendor for business last friday and so far I've sold 1 crate of Kaskyyyk kits and 1 crate of Yavin kits. I'm charging fairly low for the kits till I establish myself. I'm charging 100 creds per usage. Some of my crappier kits only have 8-9 usages on them but my Yavin's have 18. I do charge %50 higher for Lok kits because harvesting Lok carn on Gorath is a pain in the ass. There are so many cities and towns on lok that it's killing all the natural spawns. I couldn't get missions for vesps and there is no way I'm going to spend tons of time soloing kimos. Eventually i did a vendor search for lok carn and bought every bit of it on the server. All 8.6k of it lol. But so far overall I've made 52k selling camo.
