I've basically finished the template design for SWGRanger.com, but design is always the easy part.

Content is always the tough part, especially for a site like this. I'm curious what the community feels would be beneficial on the site?

I'm planning on adding acouple pages dedicatedto different types of links from the forums(proposals, FAQs, walkthroughs, etc) as well as some links to resource sites like SWGCraft, SWGCreatures etc.

Beyond these things, what would you consider beneficial? entertaining? or just fun?

It's looking nice.

As for content, you are right in calling that the hard part. How specific to Ranger do you want this to be? And how self contained do you want it to be? Something like a quest hint guide (basically a place to go to find out where to start "all" the quests in the game that has a minimal amount of spoilers to get you started) might be really cool but I'm not sure how relevant it would be.

I'd like to hear some input about various ranger-like outfits. Currently I wear a camo spec-ops duster, muscle shirt, large pocket pants, and hide boots. I wish we had ranger hats.

i'd like a page dedicated to the fun/awesome threads that we've come up with.

a few recomendations:

the "Forum Ranger" skillsheet

the "history of rangers" thread where the history of the Ranger forums was laid out.

the "Calc be gone" thread.

the Ranger hat thread versions 1 and 2.

also, a page dedicated to the best looking Bothan ever.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Some history of Rangers in SW.

The AntarianRangers for example, and I know the Imperial forces had Rangers as well. Something to give those roleplaying Rangers something to work with ingame.

I would like to see a compilation of clothing / armor and their coloration variants to design a layout for your race that would make them look, in your opinion, as Rangery as possible. Also, maybe a list of items that no Ranger can be caught without, or anything in this game that would specifically benefit our class. Chef buffs, clothing, stims, crafting tools, metal, etc.

Perhaps just a screenshot section, where we can post a pic, and then list the items that make up our outfit?

All great ideas that I'll get to work on ASAP.

For the user submitted gallery I may just use the existing SWGRanger gallery which is currently buried through a few other links.

I'll see what I can do about that, in the past it's not been terribly popular so I wasn't too worried about removing it. If there's genuine interest I'll see what I can do about either A) integrating one to Wordpress, or B) using the old TikiWiki one to achieve a similar goal.

I'm trying to avoid -required- registration because I think it limits the value of the site and only encourages people to register who may not want anything more than just to view whats going on.

Well, gotta head back to work but I'm hoping to have some of these ideas implemented over the weekend. Please feel free to submit any URLS into this thread if you'd like them included.
