Ok, this is mainly a joke, but I said I would do it, so here it is so I can keep my word.

Yes, I really and truly "pnwed' a BH in PvP last nite. A Wookie Imp ( an oxymoron for sure). Not once, but twice even. I was not buffed, no armor, no uber leet weapons, just me, a Blaster and a rather ignorant BH who thought I was afraid of him.

To his credit, up until his mom insult, he was being cool. That made me mad, so he got the DB. I about never DB, I incap a lot, let others take the kill, but no one insults moms, so he got dead.

So yes Fellow Rangers, tactics won against overwhelming odds (well, his specials and and LLC, ty Pistoleer for dodge, lmao)

Oh yeah, I killed his pet "dog" too. And I think his speeder. Ask Fred, I get mad, I harvest the grid square.

good for you, but HOW, because I at TKA 0121 beat a high-level combat char (also TK Master) in a duel too. How? Knockdown-dizzy-warcry before he did, pure luck, he beat me the second time.

How you do it is more important then doing it

JBMat,

good one...heheh...

My theory, is that BH's arent really sentient, so therefore the + to hit creatures apply to them too.

Kewl. I jsut got one thing to ask, being I guess I'm not up to date on the lingo of the SWG boards yet. Can someone define what the heck these mean?

1. L33T - try as hard as I can, I can't decipher this for nothing.

2. pwned - huh? My first instinct tells me "owned", but I see the "p" too much to guess that anymore.

I think I'm too much in being direct and saying what's on my mind to use catchy little words. (like I'll flat out call someone a newbie instead of a n00b)

Unless you're a typer like me who can type quick and still not hit the "p" key.

....although sometimes I type too fast and my keyboard can't keep up...

Truly an arcane reason, sit back and enjoy.

It's actually hacker language. Back when forums were the only way to communicate on the web, hackers would exchange ideas through forums.

But the evil computer companies would do search programs, looking for "telltales". So the dastardly hackers deliberately misspelled words, using "3"s for "e" and "P" for "O" so the search programs wouldn't key on certain words. Thus "elite", shortened to leet, became "l33t". Owned, as in I owned that site, became "pnwed".

Meanwhile, things got more advanced, and the open public forums went the way of the Trash80.Hacker forumsstill exist, but no one with any sense types that way. Or if they do, its a spoof on themselves.

The useless things I know

L33T means 'elite'. Not sure how or why this came into existance, but thats what it means. It's usually used to refer to people who think they are really cool because they can kill things and/orthose who actimmature (i.e. L33T kiddies).

pwned does indeed mean 'owned'. Again, I'm not sure how or why this came into existance.

In case you didn't know, you can find other internet chat terms at this website.

I hope this helps, and happy hunting!

PWNED is PWNED because of the P-key's close proximity to the O-key. I think "teh" is next in line to L33T glory. When you're playing a FPS, you need to type quick... this strange language is the result.

The fact that "leet" language was used, I stopped reading after hitting the stupid a*ss word "pwned."

This is Star Wars Galaxies.. not a first person shooter game. For the love of God, I wish they'd ban stupid moronic leet language.

Wookie hide would be..... wooley?

...and yes, the creature bonus does come into play against a BH for not being sentient.

I did harvest the Wookie, gave me avian hide, as he was a bird brain. (ouch, that was poor)

Identified the dog as a chuba (sp?) an avian thingy from Yavin 4. Looks like a dog with a beak. I harvested several this morning whilst I was there. Really good meat right now, gonna make someone happy.

That was the 3rd or 4th day in a row the Imps have come a'knocking to our fair city, and as the score is now 5-0, rebels favor, you would think they would take a hint.

And knowing that Rangers can areatrack 500 meters, and I can waypoint my base, and sit 600 m outside of it and scan, why are the Imps always so freaking surprised when I fly into their camp?? Even better, I send tells to them after identifying them on /ar and say peekaboo, I see you. Makes em insane, or more insane, or just more stupid... whichever applies.

Another reason Ranger kicks azz, we can harrass far off people.
