Thread: Would you trade tracking to scout?

OH HE LL NO.

Change the freaking BH requirements from Scout to Brawler. BH is anti-people, Brawler is anti-people. Already a Master BH, the lines just changed and you drop some skills for others, no big deal. They become totally a killing machine, with melee or ranged, as they should be.

Scouting is stupid for the BHs to have to master. And it demeans a fine profession, having those morons in it. Yes, I said it. 90% of BHs are morons, who could not track their own petsnail across the kitchen of their house. Poop on their getting tracking. They got droids for that, and labeled snitches, as they couldn't even find them initially.

BH is the profession for the short bus people in SWG, pure plain and simple. Move them out of our lines totally, and we can quit listening to their insipid whining and crying.

While this is a personal opinion, should any BHs want to break bad and refute, I would ask they use spell check, as most of the drivel on their forum is illegible.

I agree with the heck no response. No matter what the BH says, they have tracking droids for those purposes. If they are broken, then they need to have the devs fix them. I could never condone taking away our 1 useful skill so we can have one that half ofthe rangerssee as only marginally worthwhile as it is.

Another fundamental problem with this idea is this: we know Devs can many times only do halfof what they're told, or what they say they'll do. If they were to switch these skills and postpone our new traps, or just give us ones that aren't up to the incredible standards that giving away tracking would set.On top of this, Bounty Hunters have droids to track for them. Yes, they aren't perfect, but I'd like to keep the track ability unique to us.

I think the answer to BH's problems has already been stated. Tracking droids need fixed. They should be able to track players with them. We track in the wilderness, they track in the cities. I dont see the problem other then they are focusing their energy in the wrong direction.

That is my argument as well.

Bounty hunters have complained that they never use traps but that they would like to be able to use the track command. My brother and I were just tossing ideas around and this one came up.

Move *all* of the trapping skills into Ranger. Give us more traps, better traps, whatever... but move all of the traps into Ranger and in exchange, move Tracking down to Scout.

Tracking is one of the more useful Ranger skills currently and giving it away wouldn't be easy so the Trapping line would definitely have to be beefed up to make it a fair trade. It gives us a point of distinction from Scout, enhances what is apparently the "Uber Creature Hunter" direction of the Ranger profession and gives Bounty Hunters the track command which it seems like they ought to have anyway.

By not diluting the Trapping skill over 2 lines it should result in traps sticking better from the very start of the skill line.

Whatcha think? It'd hurt to give up tracking but I think it solves more problems than what it causes.

Tracking is one of the few skills that make us unique.. and I think from a RP perspective, there is no harm in a Ranger being able to track humans (NPC or player). A bounty hunter should be able to find clues about the general whereabouts of their targets and can track a player to a planet, city, portion ofa city, or somewhere out in the desert. A Ranger should be needed to fine tune your hunt. It would allow bounty hunters and rangers to work together in an endeavor that doesn't involve running around killing Pikets, but utilizes their skills equally.

Taking tracking away from an elite profession would dilute tracking, and no amount of traps would make up for the loss of tracking. Not even an incredibly long root, which I believe we should get anyway.

Just my two cents,

uh. yeah. so. I have nothing unique to say, really. except, as always, I have committed myself to being long-winded and verbose.

This is something that will kill the Rangers. not just hurt us, but KILL us. Traps, I don't use, really. Sure, for XP, they're good, and occasionally if I get aggro'd by some creatures when my /conceal breaks I throw a trap to root it and get some time to prepare, but we need tracking. BH's need to realize that they are UBER in PvP and giving them this skill will only make them more so.

Honestly, why is this even an issue? Bah to them.

The Bounty Hunter has devoted himself to the tracking of humans, generally in populated areas. When was the last time you saw someone able to track someone else on concrete? Tracking is just that. Checking somethings TRACKS. I think the fact that WE can track people in cities is kinda silly, but I think that it would be too hard to make it work only in the wilderness. But Bounty Hunters don't have the skills to track. They have'nt devoted themselves to being creature hunters, and as such they should'nt be able to track animals. And if they can't follow BANTHA tracks, what would give them the right to follow a human who might intelligently avoid making large tracks and avoid breaking twigs. Only someone attuned to nature could do that. and that, my friends is why BH's shouldn't be able to track.

Besides, if they're willing to make a trade, they at least better throw us a better offer. How 'bout those LLC's? I'll put tracking in the scout tree if they put the LLC qualifications and skills in the same tree.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

BH with Master Brawler !!!!???!!!!

THis would give them warcry2 (20sec delay) andintimidate2 (reduces opponent damage by 50%).

Talk about overpowered...

I would not say they are fine how they are. They have problems too, but those problems will not be solved by giving them /areatrack. They complain mostly about having to master 2 full professions to get theirs and then being grossly underpowered in PvP. Tracking will do nothing for this problem. Sorry BHs, but that is a fact.

Well, yes, yes I am. Evidenced by my 100 military parachute jumps.

Like who cares what the BHs get? What is warcry? They should be uber in PvP.

Ok, to be more fair - make them get a couple of the lines in Brawler, not the whole thing. And maybe a line in scout, like hunting, but no master.
