Are rangers (withone mastered weapon skill)going to have only 2000 health as opposed to 3000 health for people with 2 mastered combat skills)?
And if Ranger isnt a combat skill then why does master get +10 to melee defense and +10 ranged defense?
Forgive me if Im wrong but I am assuming that what I heard is true they are actually going to tie the amount of health you have into your skills, correct (which is totally lame) and that Ranger is not going to be one of the skills that does this (addds to health)

Good point. As it appears Ranger will be one of the few professions that will still require a Mastery of a Basic Profession, maybe we can get the Devs to count that.
Remember, altho the average Ranger causes more HAM damage taking out the garbage and checking the mail than most PvP clowns do all day, the Dev's think it's because of our weapons classes.
I have been fighting this battle for weeks, no luck. Maybe it's time for the thermonuclear hand grenade.

I hadn't thought about that. I figured since we have to master scout in order to master ranger that the devs would have figured that we weren't going to have enough points to master any more than 1 elite combat skill. To fix this they are going to have to count MR as an elite proffesion for a calculating Health. Otherwise we will be at a distinct disadvantage.

Maybe mastery in one combat profession caps your health at 3000, and doing a second just adds the ability to use another weapon/specials?

I have the distinct feeling that I have been left out of the loop somewhere...

Before we all start flying off the handle here, do we know for sure how this whole health bar thing is going to work? I was under the impression that it might be more like what is stated above. But, I know as much about the CURB as most of you and anything we toss out as an opinion is rumour and heresay. If it's outside of the confines of the NDA, would one of our trusty Corrs (JB or Owen) please clear this up for us. There is the potential for us to get a royal kick in the nether regions here, but the whole argument may also be moot.

Master dancers and master musician also gets +10 range defence, and +10 melee defence. I Do not think that make them combat professions.
As for the rest of you question, I think we just have to wait until SoE pull thair act together and release some more information.

Do you know how many times I have turned purple when a Dev or TH or TIggs says we are not a combat class?
I am gonna sit down sometime and count the HAM damage I do on a one hour, no missions, no further than 1000 m away from my PA, hunting trip. I mean add just the Health bars of the stuff I drop. And I will drop it all - wth, it's only Talus.
Today alone I harvested 7k of bone to sell in under an hour. Torturs, huf dun, guf drolg and kahmurras were not safe in my grid square. No huge drops, just consistent drops.
I challenge any PvP monkee to find enoughduels in an hour to top that. And no monkee boys, you count the original HAM, not the heals.
Not combat but damn, I sure do a ton of damage.

And this is why JB is our scout correspondent. You just know the devs have a memo that says
"JBMat is to be replaced June 15th on this 6 months anniversary. For the love of god make him go away"
We are a combat class. One of the other support classes got reclassified into combat. Why cant we?

Traps can only be used in combat. We have a whole tree devoted to traps.
Ranger = traps = combat
You can harvest without being in combat, you can camp without being in combat, you can /maskscent and /conceal while not in combat, but you CAN NOT throw a trap and not be in combat.

I understand the problem, but I don't see the problem? So we don't get 3000 health points. With friends. I run thru Dath only with 800 point HAMs all the time and havn't had any life and death situations. Buffs were a player's crutch anyways. "I can't do squat till I get my daily buff."
