"Puller"
Right in the tip of crowd control, Rangers should be THE Pullers of the game. Creature or NPC.
I don't see how the Devs could miss that function.

lol - by "puller" do you mean "baiter?" So, when you master ranger you would then be a master....

The problem with traps is that it initiates combat, and I'm always in range of them when I throw it, and start shooting immediately afterward, thereby aggroing every other social creature nearby. I suppose I could do it unarmed, but a much better method of pulling creatures is to use a droid or a pet, the excell at it, and will pull creatures over 100 meters to you, it's great.

Hehe, try this one.
If we are outside of the scope of the Combat Upgrade, and that little graph is a scope, then does that mean that we surround all of these professions, thereby having an advantage at tactfully massacring them?

Try just turning off autoattack when you throw the trap. This is especially useful if you don't want the creature to come at you at full speed (like a krayt).

Was just about to post this! It works like a charm - if you don't have an auto attack selected, you can start firing at your own discretion once the MOB is out of range of his buddies. This makes pulling one MOB at a time SUPER easy.

A failed trap is not considered an attack - they ignore it.
Throw until a trap works on the critter.
If you are not a ranged ranger, let it follow you away from the rest of the pack.
Toss more traps.
Kill it.
If you are a rifle/ranger, that's a whole different set of pulling tactics having to do with cover and concealed shot.

Pullers of the game?? This isn't EverQuest.
Actually 'pulling' isnt just in EQ, its in every other mmo that has been released including swg from launch. The only reason we didnt see pulling as a common function pre-cu was that it wasnt required, now we find we prefere to take one or a couple of mobs at once.
Before the CU Riflemen were the ultimate pullers able to extract 1 mob from a pack with ease, now it seems traps are king passing that torch onto us which i dont have a problem with at all.

pet attacks, CH or nonCH, are the most effective pulls I've seen in the post-CU world.

Perhaps. But i can toss a phec dart in and single pull a target that walks at a snail pace. I supose its cool that there are now a few good pullers in this game.
