Thread: Asked Jedi to not help

Last night I was dropping Krayts for fun and profit. A jedi wandered by and used a special on the Juvie, and the freaking thing broke snare andcharged me. Luckily I keep many traps on the tool bar so I re- pop tarted the large lizard and re-established my firing point.

Once I calmed down, I talked to the jedi. (He was cloaked, but I found him on /areatrack - guy was not real smart. I could see his shadow too). Civil conversation - he realizes the error of his ways and we parted on good terms.

I have posted on the Jedi board (no, I did not read it, I just posted and bailed) asking that Jedi not help us, or at least ask first.

I asked nice. Who will bet this leads to flames and whining? And requests for nerfs of Rangers.

Oh yeah, the next dragon dropped a pearl and a -.54 / 165 tissue. It was a good night.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Was to be expected.

Hunting Krayts myself the other day, when 2 jedi decided to "help me out". Politely asked for no help, then rudely asked for no help. No effect. They were "owning" the krayt, pulled another two into the fight...

SoI stopped attacking and waited... Dead jedi. With the glowstick should also come the knowledge that a jedi cannont kill just anything. Just like my ranger/rifleman should not try PVP.

If I may ask JB what is your template? I respeced my main to Master Ranger and I loved it but then quickly respeced to BH. I am planning on making my alt a Ranger because it was the most enjoyable template I have ever done.I am just sorry I waited so long to try it

Thank you for yourtime

Respectfully

Not long really. If you know what you're doing mere minutes, cept for acients. They require alot of attention.

The Rangers curse unwanted help.

Yes I am slower than you.

However if I play my cards right I will not get hurt, and I have a chance to loot the krayt.

Now if I group with the unwanted help. Chances are pretty goodI will not get to loot and my work is for naught.

I can solo any Krayt, I do not need help. Leave me to my devices and I will take care of the problem.

Lately when I get unwanted help and they wont stop I will make every effort to aggro every single krayt around and pull them to my unwanted help.

I then watch the mayhem and wait til they die or leave.

Actually, I think it's rather funny. I've run into a bunch of folks in game who are nothing more than "final respec rangers" when they started hearing how Ranger/Rifles or Ranger/BH or Ranger/whatever were able to solo krayts and gorax and kimos, oh my! They have no idea about anything in the profession, they don't understand 1/100th of the things those of us who actually play teh profession do about the profession, the game, and our place (mostly self-made) in it, and I think it's going to be HILARIOUS when all these folks who used their last respect or token respec to pick up Ranger to solo everything finally realize that it's due to a broken trap, and once the trapping issues are fixed, you won't be able to just feed the beasties a couple pop-tarts and plunk away at 'em, almostAFK.

I hate that we're turning into a FOTM for money-making alts and soloing high end creatures, but once the bugs are fixed... we'll still be able to figure how to to solo at least some of those creatures, and the FOTM respec'ers will be screaming about the nerfs and looking for the next great thing to move to from ranger. Either that or once the marketplaces gets SO flooded with resources from all the new respec rangers harvesting, prices will drop thru the floor (basic supply & demand), they'll realize that Ranger ISN'T the money maker they heard (hehe, it's MONKEY maker guys, just ask Owen, right? ), they'll all drop, and once more Ranger WILL be a money AND monkey maker since there will hardly be any of us left.

Not all Jedi are 1D-10Ts tho. Just meet a pretty cool guy in game, he actually was like "Hey, you're a Ranger... can I ask you some questions on the best way to find some stuff" (looking for RIS parts, needed to know the best way to find Gurk Kings, hehe). He was polite, well mannered, spoke in complete sentences, asked if I minded him taking down a few woolamanders with me to get some bone fragments. I ended up giving him a few that I had (I've got a bunch ATM), taught him all I know about finding the not-as-elusive-as-everyone-seems-to-think Gurk King, and made a new friend. Ya never know when you might want to know a couple of Jedi to drag down to NK-Necrosis or up to the Avatar, heh...

I to am on Ahazi with you. Yes I have met some nice Jedi both Imperial and Rebel.

When I've told them I didn't really need help and I explained my case they said there pieace and went on their mery way.

I've atually gone out and helped them. Sent them tells and told them I would track and trap for them.

But it sure seems like its a 3:1 ratio right now against.

Like you I am out hunting Gurk Kings and GDKs for my Alt Master Armorsmith.

I really think the price of RIS right now on Ahazi is insane. Would like to see that get lowered a bit.

Just made a suit for my daughter to run around in last night 6300 resist on it 100K condition.

It was killing me to see her combatant messing with the city police and then grinding with her friend last night wearing that armor.

Oy Kids.
