I just picked up Novice Ranger a little while ago, and I was wondering...is there a guideline for approximately how much I should charge for 1k of material? I do not follow the economy too much, and I don't buy buffs, armor, weapons, etc., so money is not all that big of an issue for me. I just don't want to sell something at 1k when I could get 10k.

It's hard to sell small amounts like 1k, and almost impossible if it has already shifted. Most crafters prefer stuff in stacks of 20k, maybe 10k.
If one has several hunters gathering resources for them though, and it's still in shift, some will buy any amounts.
I prefer to work without minimum limit restrictions, but I always try to provide at least 20k. But it's nice to know I can stop at 17042 units or 8546 or some odd number if I get sick of hunting or get too busy in real life to "finish" a hunt.
[Edit]
Oh, as for price.. I have no idea. That depends on what type resource, what stats, what server, and a ton of other variables. Unless it's 1k of some really good/current avian meat, it might be hard finding a buyer for a small amount like that. Maybe check your server's RIN or ranger chat channel for the going rate.

Nice to see another Lowca Ranger. If you ever need any training, look for Oreet (me), or Shubacca. Shubacca's a Master Ranger, and i'm 1-0-4-0 Ranger. Also, if you're looking for a guild, let me know.
and as far as selling prices of organics go, i usually let the crafter dictate what the selling price is. i'll either check out the auction channel, trade forums, or just keep an eye out in the Coronet Spam for people stating how much they are paying for certain stuff. Then i also have a small group of steady customers who email me when good stuff shifts in.

You can also look me up anytime. I'm a 4-2-4-2 Ranger. I've recently put hunting on hold due to piloting, but if you ever want, I'll go hunting.

Check out the trade forum, there's mostly a request for animal resources. Or you could check www.swgcraft.com to see what the current resources are. Also make sure you know what classes need what values, so that you know if a specific resources is uber or ubertrash.
Although i dropped ranger for a while, you can send me a tell if you want to hunt together, though i;'m on european timezone and still leveling, so not that strong

I'm glad you guys told me about yourselves, although I wish I had known sooner. It took forever to find the ranger trainer in coronet

Madhi,
i got your email last night. don't want you to think i was ignoring you. i hada HUGE amount of orders to take care of for my crafter alt, so i couldn't really deal with guild stuff last night. if you're online sometime tonight we can get together and take care of that.

I'll be around for a week or two yet, but then I will be going home for Christmas and New Years so I'll be away from the game for 2 or 3 weeks. If you ever need anything just give a yell and I'll do my best to help you out.

Yet another Lowca ranger reporting in. All the above has been excellent advice. I always check the trade forums for crafters who are wanting stuff.
On another note, Oreet, i need to ask you a few questions. I will mail you ingame.
