Well I'm starting a new toon (old one went *missing*) and I've decided to go for, no prizes for guessing, Ranger!!

I'm thinking TKM/Ranger then a level 3 box in CH (not sure which line yet) for Clvl 19 pets.

Just wanted to ask a couple of questions to you guys about the conceal ability.

Does it just work as a super strong version of mask scent or does it function differently and does it serve any function versu players?

Also, if I were to pick up novice ent instead of CH, with use of food, spice etc. Would I be able to stay out in the wild away from cities as long as supplies last? Unless of course I was somewhere like Dant or some other high end PvE...

Thanks in advance.

TKM/Ranger is a good mix I think, especially if you want to stay out for long periods. You don't need ent - TKMs can heal their own wounds nicely and you cant heal BF anyplace but a cantina anyway. (Unless you are thinking of dropping by an outpost once n a while). I would suggest novice medic instead. Any planets with a lot of wild are planets that you may need a bit of stim application no matter what your mastery.

Conceal doesn't work against players and it is questionable whether it works vs NPCs. You really have to use this skill to know whether it works for you. I prefer to just use maskscent, but others swear by camo.

CH... as a TKM you will be a natural tank so you don't really need the CH skills - unless you are yearning for a high level mount or something. In which case, go for it! It can get lonely out in the wild (*stares down the sick comments*). Anyway, my advice is always to give what interests you a try. If you love it, keep it. If you don't love it, don't keep it.

Enjoy yourself!

One thing I found out about camo is that it's a resource hog compared to maskscent. But it does force you to learn which animals you need to kill to make the packs.

Gah. Shame you cant heal BF in camps (would put a sad face here but cant find the smilies anymore :/)

In that case I'll probably take novice medic. The reason I was thinking CH was that it would be fund to have some reasonable pets by my side, would make life out in the wild a little less lonely but I guess medic is almost a must if you're up close and personal. Thanks for clearing up camo for me. *twitches with excitement about ranger*

Here's another thought. How do you think I should set my HAM for unbuffed combat? I'm a Twi'lek so I was thinking all in mind then anything left over split equally between health and action pools because the secondaries are more easily buffible with food.

I've also heard about padded armour (presumebly with enhanced segs) with high Kin and reasonable energy resists which is light enough for a full suit to be worn unbuffed. Anybody got any info on that?

I have my mind maxed out as it turns out to be the part that is drained the most when im buffed.
Unbuffed in the other hand its the opposite, but unless they invent a way to change stats realtime theres not much to do about that

Well that's certainly food for thought...

I guess two brandies and some ahrisa would sufice when buffed so it looks like ill be maxing HA secondaries, focus and rest plit between health and action pools then.

Conceal does not work on players, it may or may not work on people (NPCs). It does not work on higher end NPCs, the Corellian Corvette (oh look, a bush coming down the passageway here on our spaceship), the DWB, and will fail given the chance only when you are in the midst of a large aggro crowd. It does work on Shadow Sith, go figure.

Instead of CH, consider droids as tanks. The best do 2 types of damage and can self repair. They don't run (intimidate doesn't work on combat models) and come fully "grown". No skill points to use either.

Been doing a bit of research into padded armour and have coem up with the following:

Chest: 4 segs

Helm: 3 segs
Legs: 3 segs

Boots: 1 seg
Gloves: 1 seg
Bracers: 1 seg
Bicep: 1 seg

Reinforced Kliknik Shell

* Dropped by: Enhanced Klikniks
* Location: Geonesian Cave, Yavin IV
* Base Effectiveness: 17%
* Integrity: 6550
* Health Encumbrance: -18
* Action Encumbrance: -8
* Mind Encumbrance: -10

Now the shells are used as seg enhancers so you would need a drop of 5 for a chest, 2 drops of 4 for helm and pants and 6 individual ones for the rest.

Now I'm not even sure if you can get drops of 4 or 5 with seg enhancers but I'll give it a go once I'm TKM.

If you make sure the AS doesn't use any kin or energy layers in the segments all of the 17% bonus will go toward kin and eng dmg. You could even get soem NS layers put into it to make it even lighter and have even more resist!

This is my goal as far as armour is concerned. I would expect it to result in almost perfect un doc buffed armour!

If i am not mistaken, i thought that Kliknik shells could only be used in Chitin armour.. I might be mistaken, but when you examine Chitin armour. It isays that it is made from the shells of insects...
