Thread: When are we getting our new BIG updates?

So the new Ranger changes on the TC aren't very impressive.

So they fixed conceal...but that is IT. We've waited a whole month for THAT?! That's it!?!

What about our updated camps? What about, what I think is most important, fixing traps? Should we not atleast have fixed traps by now?

Anyone know anything?

Thanks!

"So they fixed conceal...but that is IT."

Fixes to other professions are on Test Center as well, mind you.

These changes are coming down the line...

GreenMarine is hard at work on many different areas right now, and can not spend all his time implementing changes to one particular Profession.

Making you wait to see what will be fixed and which professions will be fleshed out while others waste away is part of the game. Apparently.

This month's update merely makes last month's update work. So you haven't waited a month for it, you've waited 2 months for it. Assuming it works this time and you can think of a reason to use it, of course. If not, guess what next month's "big update" will be.

(Bump)

Where did you learn that conceal's effectiveness has been upped?

Or are you referring to conceal being fixed in some other way? ~J

Omega,

"Ranger: The duration for conceal has been fixed, it was half what it should have been.

Scout/Ranger: Non-aggro creatures will not attack you when mask scent or conceal breaks.

Scout/Ranger: Aggro creatures will only attack you when mask scent or conceal breaks if you are within 40meters."

Each of these things can be consider an increase to concealseffectiveness.

N'Raas and I were out the other day testing some stuff out, and on NPCs in particular it seems to be working better. N'Raas got close enough to pet a Mauler Lord without getting attacked.

The effectiveness has been upped by the fact it works properly now.

Sure the fix of conceal is good...now it is how it should have been last month, but what about the rest?

There are no cities OR mounts OR seemingly anything big in this publish at all?

What gives?

I am giving them until next month before I explode though. I will still have patience, its just that I was expecting something GOOD. You know, like content...

The 'Warren' does sound interesting though. Anyone know when/where we can get details on this?

Hopefully next month we will get our working traps, new camps (the hunting shade) and the rest of the good stuff promised. I have faith though....

These things take time to work on...something as massive as player cities/mounts/etc takes time. The devs have already stated though, from teh chat they did last week, that their goal is to have player cities on TC for the next big patch/publish after this one. IE we've got about a month and a half till we get those. GreenMarine, who handles the Ranger stuff among many other professions, is also the lead on Player Cities...so believe me, the poor guy's plate is really full. The changes will come...at the very least we now will have the systems implemented in the last patch working properly so that when they add new stuff, it won't be on top of broken stuff.

Looks like Greenmarine is working on player cities atm so I wouldn't get your hopes up about the new traps, camps etc anytime soon.

Awesome.

Thanks Delta & NRaas for the clarifications. I've used Conceal only twice, but both times it broke hard (quite quickly, too) and got me into a lot of trouble ... including the guys I applied it to ~J

Well, maybe then for the start of the new year we'll see something new for our poor rangers ...

Here's an idea: How about getting another plate? How many programmers are working on this entire affair? Four?

You would think that Sony or Lucas would be able to adequately staff a project like this but apparently not.
