Thread: Ranger InGame Creature Journal
One idea that I had that would be nice for Rangers is the ability to Save creature Information into a Journal of some sort. When we use the /examine cmd on a creature, it would give us the abililty to saveall of the information into aJournal Similar to a datapad. Within the journal we could organize the information as we see fit.(alphabetize, etc.)Also, we could add environment locations, and waypoints for probably creature locations. Also, we could sell the Journal for a butt load of money, but we would lose the information that we have collected and would have to /examine the creatures over again to compile all of the info.
Any input would be appreciated.

It's a cool idea... But I see it being vetoed for using too much database space.
Bummer. Since becoming a Ranger, I've gone through two sticky pads.Whenever I come across a high-quality resource, I write the location, critter, stat numbers and date, then slap the sticky to my monitor. While an in-game notebook of sorts would be ideal, it would likely be a technical nightmare.
I would like to have a 256 character notepad feature in the game.
It would be nice for keeping track of certain creatures, item prices, trouble players, etc...
"I would like to have a 256 character notepad feature in the game."
I've seen players using their biography space for such means.
The best idea would be to submit the idea via the website suggestion system (that's what I did
).
Already submited it.
I was just suggesting it here to get the idea out. ![]()
Oh, better than using your public bio for keeping notes: Send your notes to yourself with the in-game email system.

I was thinking the same thing. We are supposed to be the master's of creature knowledge. But that depends completely on us our selves. hehe
I also have a notebook that I jot crap down in, one of these days I need to organise it.

I use my PDA... Handy little thing for keeping records like that. ![]()
Client side would be fine for me.This Journal would also be handy in other things as well such as storing Player info, notes, etc. Why could this not be accomplished. All they are lacking is a small interface.

Copy the local data files,
sell my journal online,
copy the data files back.
That said, why should you lose the information when selling it? I mean, if you truly had a journal, wouldn't you sell someone a "copy", not the original?
