Thread: (OT) How would YOU attack the Corvette?

We decided that an ID, Tailor, 2 Rangers, 2 Docs and a Musician were the best way!

I had a great time last night when we tried to use this combination to finish the rescue mission on the Corvette. This is somewhat relevant to the Ranger forum because of the 7 people in the group, 3 of them are 'seniors' on this forum.

I am proud to say that I was NOT the first to die (I think Paks might have been...she doesn't believe in armor ) but I was the first to get to the point that I couldn't be wounded or get BF. For seem reason all the guys wanted to defend Paks and not me.

I would like to thank WildBil for his advice about going unarmed as I was left alone by a lot of the SBDs and most of the stormtroopers near the loot spots din't hit me very hard. I was able to loot the entire ship, but alas, there wasn't a powerplant on board.

Anyway, for a good time, take some non-combat type folks aboard the Corvette and you will have a blast!

I generally do it alone. The key is to get 5 things aggroed on you and chang levels so they cannot attack you. So get everything on the first level aggroed on me and take the elevator to the main floor. Then nothing will agro on you and you can do the mission and loot everything.

To survive the frist agro's i get fully buffed ,armored , and run a peace macro.

I'd just find the user names of all the npc's living on the corvette and flame them into submission on the forums

LOL!

Hey, I was wearing armor! It was padded armor and looked great! Hmmm... I didn't know about being unarmed. I was wearing a vibroknuckler I couldnt use - I got a whole 37 points of unarmed xp with it too!

And the reason you didn't get killed is we kept throwing ourselves over your incapped body! Okay, so it wasn't willingly, but still.

That really was a ton of fun. I can see how TS comes in very handy, though the second doc who was with us seemed to know the score pretty well. I hope I get to do it again! I think towards the end I became totally unitelligble from laughing so hard. Does every Corvette run degrade to a bunch of black-barred loons running around naked? My stomach muscles hurt today I laughed so much.

shoot!! I knew I should have played last night. But my non-playing was probably good. I would have shouted cursewords and screams of joy into the microphone at random intervals. The Red Sox really keep your blood flowing.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Only if you do it right!

My favorite was the star room...

  1. 5 people run in

  2. Stormtrooper fires 5 shots

  3. 5 people incap one after the other

  4. repeat until time runs out

I also learned that PAX has an affinity for making hear characters nearly identical to characters she had never seen before, but that I know well.

Paks' character on TC is nearly identical to Kekk, my female wookiee on TC.
Paks' hottie Twi'lek on Wanderhome is nearly identical to another hottie Twi'lek in my guild!

I actually went up with AR on bloodfin a week or two ago and had a great time! Just thought I'd post in case any of Bloodfin's AR are reading...

We did the rescue mission and we got to the room with the hostages in it and we had to duel to clear up the aggro. We succeeded though, and then we all died...

Ah shootCalc, I just checked my outbox and I never sent you all the info I wanted to.

Well... some general advice for the Corvette as a whole.

Destroy Mission - Only NEED one person. More can do it to speed things along.

Rescue Mission - At least 2. One must be able to draw aggro using either taunt or /rescue (preferably /rescue).

AssassinationMission - I recommend a group with at least 2 well trained tanks, 1 Doc type and 2 Rifle / Commando.

Before getting on the vette I do a buff of all 9. The mind portion of this might be overkill, but I figure you can never be too safe. I then pop a Synthsteak and 2 Brandies before leaving Coronet. (this makes sure my stomach is pretty much empty when I arrive at the start point)

(Neutron Pixie and Vercupti can also help when you're getting hit hard but want to check that last loot spot.)

When boarding the vette un-armed is TOTALLY the way to go, I've noticed much fewer aggros while doing this. Sometimes I can get as far as getting the Elevator Code without being aggrod. If you're going for the badges or the loot just run. Run to each location... run to the next... run to the next.

I then send 1 runner to do the majority of unlocking and code grabbing while the rest of the group heads to the appropriate goal. In the case of the rescue mission they go to where the prisoners will be, in the case of the Assassination mission they go to where the Mark is located. By the time they get there my runner (usually me) has unlocked the elevator and gotten the appropriate code.

Now... there's a great guide on the Game Guides forum. Which now includes a fantastic map (much better than the ones I made.)

I recommend this guide highly. From my own experiences I prefer unlocking the elevator the "correct way" which involves heading into one of the two SBD rooms. Great bragging rights for accomplishing this.

Anyway hope this is helpful. I've started doing multiple Vette runs these days. Besides the possible power-plant, it's great practice for HAM management and food strategy.

How would YOU attack the Corvette?

Well, you could scratch it up with your car keys, or put water in the gas tank, or pour gasoline all over it and throw a match on it... oh wait, you are talking about the Corvette mission... nm
