Thread: What is going on with the revamp?
Message Edited by staplesman88 on 01-03-2005 02:47 PM
You need to /whap the knucklehead that said that. The devs had been understaffed (IMO) and basically everyone was working on the impending Combat Upgrade. Yes, the CURB is going to happen. As for a Ranger revamp, the most anyone knows that we will get one and that after the CURB, the non combat professions will start getting worked on. I think we are near the middle-top of the list.

I was just wondering whats going on with the ranger revamp and if we are going to see any thing?
What i have heared is that the devsare lazy and dont want to work on the game any more, which is dumb becaues it is.
So any info on any thing that might make the game better for us rangers?

Ranger Blue Glowie,
You menationed a list of the professions that are getting revamp (or upgrades) do you know of any of the other professions that are on the top of the list and who may be at the bottom of the list. . . I really would love to see this "List" in print. . .

Well, non-combat profs is about all the detail I know... I know that Smuggler and Squadleader (I suppose they are considered combat, but theyhave non combat elements as well) had been scheduled for a revamp, so they are probably still at the top of the list. The devs will never again post orders for revamps, or timelines, or any such thing as it does ot give them an easy way out if they need to cahnge things around a bit.

I like this one the best because it make me feel like i would have a cool job and stuff. I like the ablity to harvest alot of the meat and hides along witht the ablity to /harvest trophy. And the fact that we could control an animal level 15 makes me feal like more ofa nature guy.
There is only one thing i would change about this is that i would make all the squad leaders camps and ranger camps bealbe to have all the same types of slots and slots thing to put in the slots, i also like the idea of have the tarp launder and camo suits.
I have a couple of ideas y self about a Ranger Types of RIS armor that would carry the things you harv and have a built in tarp launcher with a camo unit thing that would last longer then other camo units.
Those are just my thoughts i hope the revamp happens soon, i dont want to get board with ranger!
AHEM!!!!

Man, I helped with the first one, wrote the second by myself and I get no credit. /pout. Makes me wonder why I'm working on the third one.
Nah, I'm kiddin ya. The Outdoorsman was and is a great document. A few things have changed since then (and more changes are on the way) so it's important to have an up-to-date document. But I hope the general spirit of the outdoorsman is preserved through my work, since it is the spirit of a well-defined, unique and powerful Ranger that is the defining point of the Original outdoorsman. The Revamp IS on it's way. Basically, look at recent developers post. You'll see that work should begin this month on "non-combat" profession. Rangers are right at or near the top of this list. Expect to get some serious developer interaction in the next couple of months.

Ok I know I've been away for awhile, but what the heck is "the CURB" ?
Sounds like a bad disease
