I'm Master Swordsman and Ranger 4-3-4-2 (maxed out on camping and trapping xp)
I've left enough skillpoints for me to get 6 full trees of FS skills :
Melee and Ranged Defense
Survival
Luck
Melee speed and accuracy
However, I just found out that if I go through the Padawan trials and complete them to open up my second character slot, I can't drop Padawan after that - so I'm stuck with not being able to master Ranger unless I drop some swords skills
My second account is a pure crafter, and is being kept alive to master Shipwright and Starship Engineering, so I wasn't contemplating even trying to become Force Sensitive there.
Aargh !! What do I do now ?
Do I give up on the 3rd toon (which was going to allow me to explore PvP and things like the Imperial Theme Park), or do I give up on mastering Ranger (again) ..... can't see myself not having a Mastery of an Elite Combat profession.

You can't drop Padawan? Ever? Are you kidding me?? Gah. This is what comes of me not reading the Jedi boards. How did you find this out?

I think Tiggs has said you *should* be able to drop your FS skills, so there may be hope yet.

Yes, but are they permanent? As in if I train Padawan and unlock there is no option to ever drop Padawan and become a normal non-FS wookiee again? I DO want to try out some Jedi stuff - don't get me wrong - but the idea of permanently altering my character like that with no option to change my mind... ewwww. There are already choices like that in game - you can't change your race or your gender. Those make sense... not being able to change your profession seems a little extreme. Even the Jedi in the books could give up their powers if they wanted right?
If you are only saying you cant drop the FS trees without first dropping Padawan - okay I knew that. I'm thinking its a skill sink to offset the fact that Padawan no longer takes 250 points?
Edit: Must learn to type faster!

Edit: Need to learn to be patient in replying and let you finish your post
All i heard was that in order to keep your second character you need to keep the 6 tiers. I was just something ive seen a couple of times in the TC forum when i was testing the village, i havnt tested it myself, nor can confim it to be true but a few people were saying it.
I supose it would mean aslong as you keep 6 tiers in fs skill you get your extra character, but im only guessing at this point.

Ya, and I have noticed a lot of people saying they planned to do just that. I thought it was because they wanted to actually play a Jedi on their main. I can almost see reasons for it too - why would they give us a second character to be normal on if we could just drop Jedi and be normal again on our main characters any time we want? Still... arrg. I have to spend a little time realigning my thinking.
(Five Dr. Peppers later)
Whooo hooo! I always wanted a wookiee Jedi!
Actually its funny - not too long ago if you said you wanted a wookiee Jedi you would be laughed off the thread. Then along came wookiee armor... then the abolishment of all armor for Jedi... now it doesn't seem so bad. Our stats might actually be some sort of bonus again. Even if we do look freaky in the robes. (groan) I need more Dr. Pepper...
