Thread: How long will we be ignored Holocron?

Holocron,
Almost a year ago you postedthe following on thereworking of the ranger class :
""I hope to have the implementation of these new features wrapped up soon, but since the Ranger is getting a lot of new functionality to make up for a weak initial skill set, it may take a bit longer to get these features to you. The new traps and wayfaring changes are very close to being ready to go, with the tracking and camps to follow some time after.""
What happened to our new traps and camps??? Is a year considered "very close to being ready to go"? Were you telling us the truth or is this a ruse like the jedi code that wasnt even in for the first 3 months after release? Rangers have been the most neglected class in the game, and is now probably the most bugged as well.

Newb,
We have been going over this topic for a couple weeks in many many threads now. And we are trying as a group to come up with ideas to help the devs along. Instead of just rely on them to do it for us. If you check out "Make lemonade out of lemons", "The offensive ranger" ect on and on. We are coming up with nice simple low cost ways of improving our class. And with any luck instead of hearing
Thunderheart - Its all taken care of in the combat balance
We will hear
Thunderheart - Rangers we need your help on test center to try out these changes to your profession. Nothing big or diffucult.
We try real hard to be a helpful, useful forum. And I think we are extending this approach from one of helping our fellow Rangers. To one of helping our correspondent an in return the developers to help us in the short term.

Holocron was promoted - and so no he's actually not still listening.
As far as the rest - that information may have been true when Holo posted it, but priorities shift. Rangers got their "fix" early on (camo kits and /areatrack) and the Devs moved on. It's unfortunate, but there are many broken classes in this game. Squad Leader hasn't been touched since launch, Smuggler is still pretty useless, Bounty Hunters are only now getting some key issues looked at, etc.
In time they will come around to Ranger again, but the honest answer is that there will probably be no further fixes or additions until mid 2005 (after JtL launch, fixes and the Smuggler revamp).
