Well I had to do it. There was no way around it. I had to do my respec and I still needed the master rifleman box with that crazy 1000000 xp req that I can only get from killing lvl 70+ mobs or I respec and swap my master ranger box for the master rifleman box. This was i can hunt whatever lvl crap I want and get decent xp for harvesting. Plus double xp week is going to help that along just nicely. Pretty sneaky eh. Time to make myself some bacon as a reward for making my template building much easier. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm bacon.

I dropped Master Ranger as well... but my goal was to grind it back during double XP week for the fun. And maybe to write a guide or two.

I have to drop my FS boxes to keep master ranger, but in a trade off, i am picking up 3 boxes in squad leader, which will more than compensate for the loss of melee/ ranged defenses.

Guys.. You can get XP from missions. I was getting 4000+ per kill on Tat last night in a 2 player group. We were hunting lvl78-80 lairs...

Think yourselves lucky, I had to go from being 3134 ranger to 0000 ranger to get my master rifleman

Hey, same here. I'm Dekiion on Ahazi, and I'd be happy to help folks level up Ranger or combat skills. Was doing the same with some guild folks yesterday, if we happen to be on at the same time, more than happy to take a fellow Ranger out hunting and to get good XP.

Although I love the Ranger way of life and the comunity we have here (as shown by the 2 posts after mine) I think I am going to take this oportunity to alter the course I was going to take and go for a more combat template.
With the way that the upgrade has affected things and my ability to do the things in the game that I have been wanting to but always felt that as a fairly casual gamer I had been unable to (DWB, Corvette, etc) I feel that this is the ideal opportunity to get a bit of a head start in the grinding stakes.
Although saying that, knowing what I am like, chances are i will be back with Ranger sometime in the future hehe

You could always make a ranger on another server. On ahazi I'm a smuggler/rifleman. I'm only Ranger on TC, Gorath and Wanderhome.

I've been a Master Ranger for about 20 months now. I wanted to get Master Pistoleer as well, so with the respec I dropped Master Ranger and Adv Trapping 4 and got my Master Pistoleer.
I intend to get my Master Ranger back. However, the new costs for Adv Trapping 4 and Master Ranger are 450K trapping xp and 1M scout xp respectively. They didn't adjust the caps, so right now I'm sitting with 400K of trapping and 600K of scout xp and am absolutely stuck - there is no way to advance. I posted in the bug threads in the dev tracker.
I hope this gets fixed soon - I want my Master Ranger back.

I've been thinking about dropping M. Ranger/M. Rifleman for M.Rifleman/M.Pistoleer/BH 0044 and re-grinding Ranger after our revamp. Here's the breakdown of this new template Im thinking about compaired to my current one.
Melee Defense 45 to150
Ranged Defense 110 to 226
Pistal Defense 0 to 50
General Ranged Accuracy 105 to 217
Pistal Accuracy 0 to 40
Pistol Speed 0 to 45
General Ranged Speed 20 to 54
Burst Run 70 to 40

Creature Knowledge 100 to 5
