Thread: Creature Spawn Habitats

I think mapping the galaxy for migratory patterns would be a very time intensive task and ultimatly not worth it if the spawns shifted.
Actually, I have been living close to Moenia for about 5 months now, and none of the critters have migrated, thus far.
Same for some of my hunting grounds in Dant and Dath where I know by heart where to find what I am looking for.. nothing has migrated there either.
So, your response awoke my curiousity.... is there really critter migration implemented in to the code?

And to reply to the original post, Yes, it would be nice to map where the critters are, but that would put us Rangers in a disadvantage.
We hunt for a living... The only reason why we are employed is because we know how and where to hunt. I don't mind giving my Scout and Ranger friends advice on where to hunt, but am not that keen to expose our knowledge to the whole community.
I don't want to sound selfish in any way, those who know me know I'm very generous, but I am not sure I would like to aid in increasing the numbers of casual hunters to my hunting spots, when the only thing I can do to make a living is knowing those spots.
I hope I'm not being misunderstood....

To address the concerns of any Scouts or Rangers out there, only those with at the very least Novice Scout can in fact harvest anyway, and without at least the hunting tree its often not very effective anyway. Plus, with the amount of space and the number of servers, I believe you would be hard pressed to have every gualama killed off the face of the planet.
I wasn't necessarily speaking of mapping waypoints, like 4146 4141 there is a natural spawn of pekos. What I'm looking for is "Veermoks, from SE of Keren to NW of Moenia, squared" or "Peko Albatrosses from Theed to Kaadara, straight line, hug the coast."
I do believe that spawns usually generate just until you clean them out or, like Peko Albies, respawn 3-4 times, then randomely relocate. While not knowing if this is true, I believe that once said Peko Spawn is cleaned out, it is generated someone else on the map. What I do know is that while spawns do often happen close together, they NEVER happen on top of each other. I also know that while the TYPE of creature that spawns to the NE of our town changes, the location of the those spawns do not change.
Unfortunately, the 3 spawns that happen regularly outside of our town are more likely Marauders, Spiders, Shaus, and Kaadus.
Anyway, getting back to the original intent, if I were to run Gualama missions from my town, I will most likely not stumble across a random natural spawn. If I were to run missions from a different town, I may have a better shot at finding them. What I would like to know is where, generally, I should be looking. Generally. 5K square or so.
I can't give you a 5k square for gualamas, but the plains along the coast between theed and kaadara are (at least on bloodfin) prime gualama hunting teritory. You will find giant pekos there as well as normal pekos, and even an albatross now and again. You will not find peko nests in the region though. For this, either go into the mountains that transect the naboo map (closer to the old battlefield is better if memory serves), or look in the swamps to the north (by moenia and by the gungan poi seem to be equally as good). You would be very unlikely to find a gualama spawn in either of these areas though. For veermoks, stick to the mountains that transect the map as well, though I have seen some in the swamp around the gunganPOI also. Faambas seem to like the plain between theed and kaadara or the swamps, but not the mountains. Mott Calfs (don't ask me how I know this), like the swamps around moenia or the plains to the east of moenia.
Hope this helps a little

"gank - for men"
I think I plonked my house down near a regular spawn spot. Makes for interesting returns home as I never know what am going to find on the front ramp. Bantha? Cupa? Desert Demon? Oh, great, its more kreetles.
Weirdest / most surreal thing to find levelling half my hill out was a large Imperial base. Please my neighbours, Rebels, but nice folks, no end. Almost as much as when the spawn threw up one of those big hermit houses with the walls? His house was just inside the walled garden part, mine was half inside the back of the hermits house.
Does it happen to be "Farenheit"? (I find Farenheit to be absolutelyirresistibe !)
