I have the Game Voice hardware. You can use a mic only and hear with your speakers (many do) but you can get annoying artifacts that way. If you have a second computer that can be on a home network system it's best to use the second computer for Teamspeak.

After you install it you need to add the server to the list in the connect menu, or you can just use the quick connect feature. I need to get verification before I give the address out though, but some of you have it already. For the WE server you won't have access to talking untill a mod gives it to you (I'm not one) and if they allow you to register with the server you have to set up your user and pass before you log in again AND when you do you have to log in as registered. Then they won't have to enable your mic all the time. There is a loopback mode in the settings menu that will allow you to hear what you send. It might be to your benifit to use it to set up first.

1. Make sure your mic is pluged in. Ther correct jack, that is. If it is too low all the time, that is AUX and not MIC.


2. It might still be too low, or off. In your sound mixer, switch to inputs and check that. Many, many folks forget this or don't know.


3. If you sound a bit distorted, turn off the boost feature.


4. If you can just barely hear yourself, try adjusting the input level. If you cranked it and it is still too low, turn on the boost feature.


5. there is a setting when you are doing the loopback test that is the mic sensitivity. Its the voice activated switch, you will have to adjust that so that you don't cut out but don't make the little green light come on all the time.

Have you ever looked in wireless heaphones (not sure if they have a wireles mic)?

Our next attempt is scheduled with my next paycheck (hopefully). Raruk has informed me that somewhere in our pile of boxes (we moved) is the headset he used to TS on his X-box, so if I can unearth that I may be able to try sooner.

Since I run two instances of SWG, i think my computer would crap out if it had 2 instances and TS running at the same time.

To. All non-essential items (everything but the PCs and bed basically) went into the storage while he rips down wall paper and patches the plaster walls.

And we don't necessarily HAVE to put the computers in the closet - but it cuts down on the number of friends who check themselves for spontaeous skin cancer when they walk into the "Radiation Room." Jeez guys - its just the fans, doesn't seem to reassure them much. It might be the way my eye twitches when I say it, I dunno.

Plus we put the TV in the same room until we can rip out the faux fireplace in the living room. And it doubles as our guest room. I may be able to fall asleep to the soothing sounds of multiple CPU fans and the gentle green glow of the power lights, but not everyone can apparently.

Yeah, but that is only when I am talking....I have my mic set to 'push to talk.' Even you folks who use headsets echo sometimes...

Raruk, the technical genius, I bow to his mightiness, has set me up the TS. Now I will attempt to track you down in-game and get further instructions!

Ow. My stomach hurts from laughing. TS is deadly. I died three times. Not to mention all the times I talked to myself cause I was pushing the wrong button.
