Thread: Follow-UP to Am I a Bad Imp Should there be a Ranger Code?
"Am I A Bad Imp?"
The overwhelming response and thoughts of Ranger First, Faction Second kept coming up...and then someone asked if there was a ranger code.
And so I ask..should there be a ranger code?
I like the idea, but the main problem that I see is that as solitary (mostly in image) hunters, we are independant and tend to aschue authority. Therefore creating a ranger code may interfere with our innate independence.
Yet the question remains
If you think there should be a ranger code, what should it be?
If not....why not?

I am a servent of my own free will.
I shall charish Nature and her/his wonders.
I shall protect my Brothers and Sisters (aka other Rangers)
I shall enjoy my Travels and experiances, I can choose to Play hide and seek with those that wish to harm me.
I am often alone, What I lack in social grace I make up for with survial techniques.
I am my own world, Weither the world be of pain and agony or a world of peace and beauty.
I am a Ranger.
I would guess that there should be (or is) a Code for the Antarian Rangers, but not for all.
IC-wise, I am an Imperial First and my function is Ranger and Scout. I also don't subscribe to this "Man (or bothan) of the woods" ideal that many like. To think that just because I am a Ranger, I am some type of goody-two-shoes save the planet type of character is very presumptious
I am a hunter and tracker of all those that stand in the way of the Emperor. That includes purging verious wilderness areas so that the Empire can safely expand ![]()

I think a code would be nice but I don't read much so it better be short!
For starters.
When ever a ranger puts up a camp he/she should have cold beers for every Ranger visitor. /burb
Buy Java Beer by the crate. It takes up less storage.
I dont agree with you compleatly.
the reason is the following. As rangers we spend a lot of times alone. S if we are in trouble in a remote and desolate planet, the only other person that might be around to help is a fellow ranger. So Perhaps there should be some sort of etiquete for this.
If you are actually doing a mission for the empire and it requiers the anihilation of a ranger or a group of reb's; then that is another story whatsoever. If rangers dont want to kill rangers then they should remain neutral. Personally if I se aranger in trouble by himself I will probably help him. But once I do we are enemies again. Two things can happen we part w/out harming each other and knowing we are enemies or we duel right there and then. May the best ranger win.
For role playing purposes different factions = enemies. But being a member of either faction does not necesarily make you evil. So we should be able to help a fellow ranger in trouble if we are not in a mission to kill rebels.
Thats what I think anyways. My previous thoughts were Rangers first faction second, but the truth is that it should be the other way around. Like I said this does not mean I will not help a ranger in need.
1) Rangers first.
Some follow, some don't. Be a good Ranger and follow
(the cold beers are a good idea)
"You can always tell who the other Rangers/Scouts are because they come sit in your camp."
RissKei, LOL your so right never thought about it till you said that........

Used to train any Ranger/Scout who asked, until I got screwed over by a few unnamed people. I trained them, they refused to train me onceI was guilded.
Now I read bios, and if you are guilded, and I am not seeing purple, and I don't know your guild, you get rejected.
Don't get me wrong, still a few of the "other side" I still hunt/train/hang out with. In fact, there is one entire guild - mixed - that I tell to pound sand. But by and large, if you are not a friend... sry bout that.
They wants ta play the big bad Imps, they can go find a big bad Imp to train em, or go pay the man.

yes, the sins of a few effect the majority, such is life
I am Imp but I am not a fanatic for the Empire. I joined that side since most of my friends are Imps too. So I am like many soldiers in the past I fight for my buddies not for the country. That is why if I see a Rebel Ranger or anyone in trouble I will help out. The critters are the true enemy they don't care what you are. ![]()
The only exception though would be BH's rebels those can die plenty. ![]()
This was discussed quite a bit during the creation of the antarian rangers.
It boiled down to "Rangers over Faction"
But the issue of battlefields and raids was brought up and it got real interesting. I suggest everyone check out the thread, its a great read!
