1) DENIAL
In the denial stage we refuse to believe what has happened. We try in our mind to tell ourselves that life is as it was before our loss. We can even make believe to an extent by re enacting rituals that we used to go through, like making a HTFB just to relax in the game. There are times when i throw a trap just because i havent done it in a while. I hit this stage during the "rangers are not a combat class" time period.
2) ANGER
We get angry. The anger can manifest itself in many ways. We can blame others for our loss. We can become easily agitated having emotional outbursts. This sounds like our board here for a while. I know that i was very angry for a while and just didnt really post or play because i didnt feel like it. I wasnt in the mood to play or have fun. I found myself cursing and just being negative.
3) BARGAINING
The attempts to create a new ranger revamp proposals, while brilliant and great reads, ultimately just leads me to the next stage, depression, because Rangers can be so much more than they are, and the way that the game has moved has not given me faith.
4) DEPRESSION
This shows all of the theories that they are going to kill the ranger profession, and the threads that (some of them accurate) rangers will not be viable for what we do best. Hunt.
5) ACCEPTANCE
The final stage of grief. It is when you realize that life has to go on. I have hit the point where I am more positive about the CU and the ranger profession. I have taken my own advice and i will have fun in the game no matter what happens. I will still play with my friends, hunt, loot and collect cool things around the galaxy. If rangers are gimped, then i will be happily gimped. I will evolve, change and learn to master the new system. Eventually, when the CU is patched to be fixed, i will learn to like it. If not, then i will be gone.
Just a quick rant..

If I could I would 5 star your post. I too will move along. I have no idea what do combine with MR after the CU. I am master rifleman now but don't know if that will continue to work or move to pistol or carbines. I am still looking at Master Dancer/Master Ranger though just to annoy my guildies.

As usual, you continue post some of the best written stuff in the forums.
You can't leave though. I won't let you. I revoked your green (Ranger) card and shuttle ticket......

Thanks Rangers
You all are the reason i am still here. When i took my absence, the main thing that i missed was the company of my brothers and sisters.
The CU is inevitable, now is the chance to adapt to the new system and become the masters of the wild again.
I am not saying "love it or leave it" there are a myriad of problems with the CU and those are very clear to all who play. However, lets take the new system, review the outdoorsman and the other revamp proposals and create a unified front for the devs to see.
lets not mistake critiques for flames and we should all strive to make ranger exactly what we want it to be.

damn you.
see the problem with me isI go to the Alpha forums and see SOE's horrible handling of this situation and I just want to grab the /cancel button and push it 1,000 times. One for everytime I've felt angry or betrayed by them.
but then I come to the Ranger forums...and I feel humbeld by the great people here and I go "I can't really leave this community, can I?" To be honest, I'd say that talking to you folks here is more fun than the gameplay in the CU. I may just gladly pay 15 bucks a month just to talk with y'all.
somebody threw a trap at me, 'cause I'm rooted here.

Myproblem is that I have an error in my programming. I progress through stages 1-4 fine but then get caught in a loop that sends me back to stage one. This is especially annoying because the outlook on life in stage one and stage five are virtually identical and it is only whenI progress to stage two that you realize the loop I am in.

Excellent thread.
I've taken the liberty of posting this on my Servers main page as I feel its something ALL SWG players could be feeling right now.
I hope you don't mind
