Could someone explaine how to get scouting expierence? Im working on Ranger 1/4/2/0. I have built several camps but after i disband i havent gotten any expierence.....at least not any that i can see. I can ride around all day using mask scent and i dont get a single point of expierence. I harvest creatures and i still dont get xp. Can someone tell me how i am soupposed to progress up the ranger skill tree?

harvesting creatures DOES get you XP.
but all your XP is now displayed only in the combat chat window, not in the middle of your screen like it used to. all XP is now put in the combat spam. If that's not it, purhaps you're maxed out? BTW, camping doesn't give survival XP anymore, because they removed that from the game.

No problem at all. We Rangers are a helpful bunch.
By the way, if you hit Ctrl+S and bring up your skills window, there's a box you can check that says "display experience monitor". It'll show your progress to the next skill. It won't show a number everytime you get XP, but it will slowly fill up so you can guesstimate how much time you have left to your next skill. I find it very usefull.

I've always kept my combat chat window above my regular chat so I can always see what I'm hitting for. Noticed the scout xp there last night. Kinda distracting, but you get used to it quick enough.
I was pretty stoked tossing bone spurs against rancor the other day for 4000pts, wonder if I can do it again post CU.

Wasn'tWALKING around with MAsk Scent also a producer of scout points?
Yep, I just confirmed this (haa the joy of dual monitor, hehehe), you still get Scou XP while walking around with Mask Scent!

so is it just me or did we luck out? I havent been able to get more than 1 combat xp point since the CU, but i can get the same scouting xp that i got prior to the CU. It seems to me that if your respecing your character, you should use your points on getting the combat professions you want and then when you run out use your regular points to go back up through ranger skills again. I know many people wont want to grind all those skills again (espically camping), but it seems the sensible thing to do since we can still get all the regular scout xp that we had before. Am I way off on this?? Would like to hear your opinions

Don't kill grey cons, they're too weak for you to worry about*. Only kill stuff that's equal to or near your own level.
I've respec'd my toon to get the best weapons skills I could for the way I like to play and, while that meant sacrificing a couple of boxes of ranger (Like cammo is borked, so for now I am not going to be using it) I'll soon start to fill that back up, especially next week when it's double green stamps and free fried chicken with every porchoise*
Camping is going to be no more a hassle to get now as you just need to kill lots of critters. None of that pesky pitching of tents and sitting around counting your small change any more. Good? Bad? Jury is out. Ask me next year when we get the revump.
*Yes, this does mean that you are now uber omgomg1!!!111bbqtehcrittorz.... (I knew taking novice BH was a daft idea)
* and I really shouldn't have sklipped dinner to night then tried to get thru the evening on caffeine

im not getting a single point of scout experience when i harvest creatures. I get nothing in the combat chat. Nothing in the skills window. Nothing in the experience monitor. Could this have something to do with me using a macro that does /harvest hide; ?
