Is it normal that when you TRACK ... you can only track the surrounding and not the 500m ???

No...BUT I have noticed lately that things did not to seem be appearing to me until they were within 100m of me. In otherwords, things don't seem to exist in the world outside of a 100m radius circle around me.
For exapmle, while hunting Kimos recently, I would have them appear on my radar at around 100m; they would appear visually shortly after. I could walk around the area, but when they got to the 100m mark, the disappeared off my radar and visually. I would go back toward where they were and sure enough, they would reappear at the 100m mark.
Has anyone else observed this behavior?

It's EXACTLY what's happening to me... I was with one of my friend trying to find the the Wild Bladeback Boar for the Hero of Tat... I heard that you can ask people to run around just to make thing spawn... And AWESOME spawn happen when he was driving around BUT as soon as he leave this area everything was DESPAWNING !!!
Is this a bug ??? Normally when you scan does it FORCE the spawning around ???

Tracking does not force spawns, but things used to spawn at much greater distances from you (>500m). I think there is a bug. Usually, the friend on a speeder trick works well, but like you said, things are disappearing too soon right now.

this may be a result (or the reason) of there no longer being servesr maintenance. If the servers are processing less data (400m less) then there will be less wear and tear. Perhaps you should put this issue on the Corr. forum Owen, because it affects everyone, not just us.

I've been having issues too. Also will track something at 3-400m and move closer do it again and nothing, have to get them within site before areatrack will work again. Been trying to track some rare spawns and really sux that are one good ability is messed

Well is there any place that we could post or say this ??? Because we have a large disadvantage... Because our tracking is not really worth it since we can see ALLwhat we're tracking ...

Thank cribbens! I thought I was going nuts today.
Plenty of spawns 'local' to me, ie, in the 100m range, but nothing outside that except when in a high traffic area.
Then things were disappearing when I KNEW they ought to be just over that ridge.
That was on Tat, Corellia, Dant and Dath. Yavin I don't know as I didn't go out of the outpost.
It's not just critters, btw. I was gathering resources to knock up some cammo packs on Dant when a couple of escaped NS slaves started taking pot shots. I peaced and ran off a bit, away from the other red mobs, then doubled back to see if I could take the naughty bleeders down a peg or two.
Cammoed, prone and /conceal shotting merrily, the first one went over no problem. COuldn't get to the corpse as his pal was stood right over it, so started banging away at him too. Got a dizzy and a bleed on him and was enjoying watching him flip-flop away from me.... for about 30m when he suddenly vanished.
No way was it a timer as I'd only been in combat with them for a couple of minutes. Soon as that little blighter got past 98m or so he was gone. Went out to the other corpse to loot it, there's matey about 100m further in, states gone but just wandering.

I was tracking last nite for Imps to harvest... uh... talk to about world politics and see if they had any wanted posters they would be willing to share.
I easily was seeing people, Jawas, the stoopid pirates and leader, Imps, stormies, good and bad hermits, and sundry and assorted other stuff out to 500m.
Course, I was not looking for creatures.
