When you do an /areatrack does it just give back the creature names or does it also give back that there are babies near by also?

/aeratrack lists each creature individually so it will list babies if there are any in the area. You will see and list and it will look something like...

Male Roba to the South

Female Roba to the South

Femal Roba (baby) to the South

Male roba to the South

etc..

Bio Engineers are now required to become Rangers in order to get their high-level DNA (Warning: a bunch of disgruntled Rangers on the way).

So here is the question: How is conceal working against creatures like Kimogillas, rancors, krayts, etc.? Would they allow a Bio-engineer to get close enough (15m) to poke it with a needle and escape unscathed?

Before you ask, yes a Bio-engineer can pay a Ranger to babysit them and apply camoflage (run to the nearest Bio-engineer and offer services before they quit their profession). But can our camoflage enable them to get close enough to a kimogilla to take a sample? Warning: When a bio-engineer samples they have a very high chance that the animal will get angry and go after them. Have your finger on the /rescue button. Hehe. I see a lot of running back from the cloning facility in our future.

Thanks y'all!

Yeah, conceal will work that well. If you go up slowly, and don't move around like you were in RiverDance, it works really well.

Hmm, are these BEs gonna have enough skill pts to become Rangers? Won't leave them any forcombat skills, so they are gonna need a baby sitter to keep their butts alive come the time conceal breaks while they are getting a sample.Seems to me it's counter-productive to become a Ranger just for conceal or maskscent.

If I was a BE, and I do know some, I would just hire a Ranger. I would not charge a lot, for a discount on the stuff they make. Hey, I would even throw in areatrack. And then would harvest and share it with them later.

Yes, I already have a deal in the making with a BE.

You know, that's a great way to branch out. I already help some medics and tailors, now I'll add BH's to the list *grin*

One thing I would ask. If a BE needed to get a sample of a Kimogillas, which is on what planet "Lok"? mmmm looks like there would not be any camo for it. No meat for the camo kits.
Anything change on this issue?

My primary character is a Master Doc/Rogue with rudimentary Scout Skills (0010) and Novice Artisan to collect all the junk we need for crafting.

I am considering plunking down another $50 for a new CD license to make an alt hunter to keep my primary in meat, no big hunters on Scylla seem overly interested in supplying the medical market, at least outside of a PA.

I was considering Master Ranger/Master Rifleman, and I have a few questions:

1. What is the added benefit for meat harvesting with a Ranger? Take for example, a giant flit -- I usually get 30 units of meat from them, how much do Master Rangers get?

2. Which is better in your opinion, Master Ranger/Master CH, Master Ranger/Master Rifleman, or Master Ranger/Other? My primary is factioned, the new guy will be factionless and likely never PvP.

3.I don't want to be further accused of dabbling (some people make a big deal about that), but if what I want is a meat-harvesting machine without uber camping skills, which tree should I max out short of Master to maximize that and still allow me to get Novice Medic and as much survey skills as possible?

All suggestions apprecitated.

As a master ranger, I get about 55 or 56 units from a giant flit. I'm not much help on the other questions.

This is what I did with my character as I dont plan to holo-grind and definitely dont plan to dump my Master Ranger:

I dumped all my Master Marksman skills except the Pistol tree and the first 3 boxes in Ranged support. I picked up Novce Pistoleer (pistol speed) and am planning on Mastering CH. I will then have some use in the GCW and still be able to do the Ranger thing. It has been a very successful transition and for me I always used my pistol to hunt with anyways. I keep the different types of pistols (with powerups) on my toolbar for quick change. I examine my prey, check the resistances, and switch to the appropriate pistol. I have to say I do miss my BH skills and the use of my LLC and Scatter pistol, but I think the changes I made fit my playing style. Give it a try and see if that works for you.

Harvesting as a Ranger gives better harvests and the added protection of broken skills. But I have to say there is somewhat of a difference in the harvests.

As Far as dabbling, they give you that many skill points to place where you deem fit according to your playing style. I dont remember reading where it was a mandatory game goal to master any single profession other than the ones that lead to other elite or Hybrid professions. So do what works best for you. Its your money you are paying to play the game, so it should be your choice. Just my opinion.

Hey Gelotri, I'm also a Master Ranger, Master CH, and pistoleer. Only diference is that I dumped the range support and used the points in Pistoleer Stances. Just thought you might want to know.

As far as what profession to go with Ranger, all have advantages and disadvantages. I chose CH because it allows me to solo many more things and also give me access to better missions. It takes a little longer to kill things but that's what PetStims are for

That was a good choice also. I personally prefer the Threaten shot and Warning shot to give me an extra second or two head start when I start running...lol. I may consider trying the stances tree in Pistoleeer if things start to fall apart. I am not a fan of frequent cloning center visits.

I'm a little confused on those saying "I am Master Ranger, CH, pistoleer, or other professions." I am 4/3/4/4 Ranger, 3/2/2/2 CH, and 4/0/0/0 Rifle and only have 4 skill pts left. Something is not adding up. I would love to be Master Ranger, CH and have enough rifle skills to hold my own form a distance, but i don't see it possible with the limited amount of skills available.
