Issue #4: Examine
Additional Detail:
- Most Rangers consider the /examine to be a very valuable tool
- However, there are suggestions to make it even more useful
- We understand that most of this information can be learnt through trail and error, but it would be handy to have access to it on the window anyways.
Proposed Solution:
- Request to list the Health/Action/Mind values
- We can see the values via the Target Window, so why not list them in the examine window as well.
- Request to display the "fat, medium, skinny" quality of each resource.
- Request to display the bone resource.
- Request to display the Social Assistiveness of a creature
- Request to display the speed of a creature (so we can know whether we can outrun it using burstrun)
- Request to re-display the base values (numeric amounts) for the creatures resources
- As an alternative, perhaps displaying a (tiny, medium, large, huge, gigantic) rather than the true literal value would suffice
- Request for information regarding what exactly Ferocity actually represents
- Several Rangers believe it determines the minimum distance a creature will attack. Other believe it determines Trap effectiveness.
- Request to display the attributes (Overal Quality, Toughness, etc.) on resources available to a creature
- This information can of course be retreived by killing the creature and examining the resource directly
- But many Rangers get into the habit of ignoring certain creatures who had poor quality resources in the past
- Allowing us to see the quality would enable us to know when a new resource has come into season (shifted)
- This information can of course be retreived by killing the creature and examining the resource directly
like, on lok the herbivore is vadew for us on lowca right now, in examine it could say, herbivore meat: Vadew
or something
eventually we will all know what stats a name has with it i hope
"would be to just show resource name i think, not all its stats"
Marvelous suggestion. I will make that change ![]()
Wonderfull
How about adding this.
Fixes to examine, Spitting Rawls show nothing under resistances etc yet my dlt20a rifle's over head damage is less then in combat window, yet me e11 rifle is more then in the combat window. suggesting that either a I had a very bad day , or examine on certain creatures doesn't show armor or resistances.
Know Creatures I have incountered with this issue.
Naboo
Spitting Rawl
Elder gualama
Rori
RoyalGuardForrest Mite or is Royal Forrest Mite Guard (btw baby is null (baby))
- Several Rangers believe it determines the minimum distance a creature will attack. Other believe it determines Trap effectiveness.
And I believe it represents how likely a creature will attack. We should start a pool. ![]()
I suggested resource name in the top 5 issue thread and said that it would suffice if they can't give fat/skinny. ![]()

Great Idea and will save us alot of time.
- As an alternative, perhaps displaying a (tiny, medium, large, huge, gigantic) rather than the true literal value would suffice
The change made that took the numbers away as we all know was that harvesting was now a little more variable dependant on grouping..That in mind the alternative of showing the "tiny,medium,...etc" is the best way to give us a heads up on the amount.
Display of the bone resourse is important. I hate having to find out by trial and error...also I keep forgetting what kind of bone on what vreature...my memory sucks ![]()

This is not personally of interest to me, but I cxan see that for many it is so I am for it to help out all the Ranger brother/sisters ot there ![]()

If a value is not understood at all it becomes useless information. Add this information to the manual at the least!
NRaas you are doing a great job here and you points are on target and sussinct. Keep it up!!
Rangers have been lucky with 2 great correspondants I hope our luck never runs out ![]()
"I would like to be able to tell what kind of creature lives in a lair too"
I have had the same issue. ![]()
Knowing what is in a lair, great idea. I like this all so far NRaas, good job.
As for Ferocity, it's meaning doesn't really have to be in our examine window. It's meaning isn't going to change per creatures. If they could just define it for us, tell you to tell us and then add it into the Holocron or something, that would do IMO.
I think the idea of just showing what type of herbivore or wild meat it is, would suffice. We don't want a novel coming up in our examine window.
"As for Ferocity, it's meaning doesn't really have to be in our examine window."
Agreed. ![]()
I don't want the description in the /examine unless they implement some sort of tool tip operation (where you hover your mouse over an attribute and it gives you a description).
I just want the use of the item clarified.
I sudgest that the information given be distance specific.
IE you won't know the quality of the hide unless you're really close. Whereas knowing how fast a creature is, should be more basic knowledge.
Honestly (not sure if this is going to far), but i would like to know what creature of a certain lair is going to spawn next. For example if i kill off some of the creatures already around a lair I would like to examine the lair and see if say a gurreck is going to spawn or cowardly gurreck or desert gurreck charger or even if one of there babies will spawn next. Being a master ch this would really help me so i could know if i start attacking someof the creatures around a lair that a baby will spawn next. Instead of wasting my time attacking and then something else spawning that i didn't want. Just a suggestion i thought it was a pretty good and useful one to me. Anyways thanks for listening please respond NRaas if u think this could be an acceptable idea.
