"Vehicles have to autostore, or this happens.

What will be happening in Publish 7 is that the Camp restrictions will be lifted so you will be able to pull vehicles, mounts and pets out anywhere.

I hope that camps will not become redundant because of this.

I'll just get this out of the way:

Thank you Captain Welcome to Last Week! You've saved us all!

I know some Ranger/Scouts are ticked, I say it's a good thing. Throwing down a small camp every timeI want to pull my speeder is annoying.

What's more annoying is not being able to pull out a camp at all, and finding yourself 2500m away from the nearest town, alone, when your speeder just dissappears out from underneath you. I seriously don't care that this change is going to make camps rarely used (I actually look forward to saving the resources), I would much rather be able to pull out that speeder anywhere when I play my musician.

Big freaking deal, no camps for speeders/droids/pets.

Not like anyone ever said, OMG, we need a Scout/Ranger so we can store our droids/pets/speeders and recall them in his camp.

I am still gonna do missions, both destroy and factional. I can save resources not using a basic camp after every mission to get my swoop out. I will still harvest a load of stuff for the people who ask me too.

Frankly, this is a very very very minor change. It falls under, "like who cares?"

Anyone with half a brain will realize that camps are more or less broken, still. Not like we are selling them and making tons of creds, or at least I am not.

My major function on hunts is traps, traps and more traps. And telling people what is in the area. And harvesting tons of stuff, while others are getting less or none. Our jobs are safe, for the time being (Notice the proviso).

If they allowed anyone to harvest, I would be at THs door in half a heartbeat, but that should not ever happen.

Now, let's be nice to TH and get our stuff fixed.

Guys, seriously! This isn't the Ranger Forums group I know. Shame on you all

MilkWinoo, as you have already been made well aware of, this is old news, sure. For my money, though, it's not the fact that we won't have to deal with the hassle anymore than makes this a good move -- it's the fact that the Devs are going to have to give us some very overdue camp loving to compensate.

Aren't they?

"This isn't the Ranger Forums group I know."

Aye. With new blood comes new emotion, and there has been a lot of newcomers in recent days.

It's all about respect though. If you don't give it, then don't expect to receive it either.

"as you have already been made well aware of, this is old news"

I don't know why we are all dog-piling on MilkWinoo here. I mean, I recall at least three threads (separated by 1 week each) announcing the addition of milking as a new skill, and everyone politely ignored those threads.

"Aren't they?"

Hmmm... There are rumors that some improvements are forthcoming for camps in publish 7 (the one after next), namely to smooth out tensions about the loss of the pet calling requirement.

But as always, they are rumors until I see the changes with mine own eyes.

See, personally, I've thought about this. This is a big resource saver to me. Frankly, I'm a bit tired of lugging around basic camp kits just so I can call out my speeder. I really enjoy my HTFB kits when it comes to healing my own wounds and creating trap schematics. I've grown tired of flopping down a basic while the 20 people in my group take turns generating their vehicles.

I was a bit miffed at first, thinking they were taking something away from us. Believe me, on a krayt hunt, I don't want my shining moment to be that I put up a camp so we could all drag out our bikes. Hopefully there are some cool changes in publish 7 to look forward to. Until then, I won't miss dropping a camp after every mission or hunt.

Can I say again, I LOVE the new edit command.

I agree, at this point camps are strictly a resource pit and an annoyance. I certainly won't miss making them or placing them. 99.85% of the time I have to put camps down only because someone needs to bring out a vehicle or pet. And of those times, I'd say a good 75% are due to bugs such as pets/vehicles autostoring, pets that stop responding, pets that start following erratically or slowly, or pets that stop at server boundaries and nobody noticed.

I'm not a big poster to this forum, but I am a perpetual lurker (programming job... what can I say), and I think that the dogpiling that we are witnessing here is a result of increasing frustration about the recent spate of posts like "d00d R@ng3r suks," etc.... The content of MilkWinoo's message was actually not that bad - yes many of us know that camps will no longer be available, but really who cares if his observation was a few weeks old- but the title was pretty inflamatory, as it suggests that there issomeunstated list of reasons "not to be a ranger/scout" that we all agree on, when this is, in fact, very far fromthe case.

I suppose it's just a question of presentation / professional communications skills- if you want to be taken seriously, you don't walk into a room and say "j00s a11 suk!" and then expect people to listen - well, you don't do it before 9 in the morning anyway. I think if MilkWinoo had entitled his post "I'm upset about the new camp changes" (or something similiar) then the initial responses to his threadwould havebeen more substantive and encouraging.

Most of the people who read and post to this forum are pretty serious rangers, and my impression (and here maybe I'm speaking for myself) is that we are getting increasingly tiredof posts (usually from outsiders whose only investment in our profession is the 1/2 day grind until the next holo and usually with inflamatory subjects) asking how to get survival xp as fast as possible, stating that /areatrack is broken because it can't find a krayt dragon in the middle of naboo, etc....

oh well....

Indeed. Poking the locals with a sharp stick is not the most effective way to endear one's self.

Similiarly, I find it quite funny when posters state "I'm too lazy to read the whole thread..." at the top of their post, and then expect other posters to actually read their post.
