After my trying hunt on YAVIN...drama. I decided ok I have a contract for herb on corellia to fill im out. It is 3 oclock in the morning EST and I pop into cornet! Off I go all the way west and around the first 1000 m I see a number of lairs, but I have made up my mind I am going deep!
I head all the way west...then north...then east...omg and I mean I saw nothing!! I ran into one REBEL and that was it. I set up 5 HTFB and camped....I fished....and no lairs were spawning. I spent til 600 in the morning and all I did was get PO'd.
What gives DEV's!!??
This is rediculous. The deeper you go out the bigger badder creatures should get!!
They shouldnt get more scarce!!!
FIX THIS NOW!!! I DEMAND IT FOR 15 bucks a month!!
HOW am I supposed to be a RANGER....Im more like a HERMIT!! I am getting a complex!!

I think your giving this whole forum a complex...
A complex issue to tackle, that is. Man, am I good at wordplay or WHAT?!?

Seriously though, you're right. This is an issue I notice a lot too. I can ride my Cu'Pa around for hours on certain planets and never get a spawn. Get within a few hundred meters of a big town and BAM!!! tons of creatures, lairs, etc. You'd think the damn chubba would learn to stay AWAY from the cities...not sit outside going "I wonder what this place is". Apparently, cities are very interesting places to all the animals...that's where they all go to sightsee, apparently.

Why take the contract anyway? I know you made money off Yavin. Hell, I made 2 mil and I haven't been there for a few days. After buying 5200 rebel FP, brandy, veghash, 3 vks and other misc crap, I've still got over a mil left. I can't stand to hunt for people for crap I don't need.

Dude - pls check with your physician, your dosage needs to be increased.
and your capslock is still giving you problems huh? Should fix that.

also, I generally get missions for what I am hunting. You get paid twice, at the very least. Mission pay and then contract pay. And stay closer to cities, the spawns are where the people are at. With a limited spawn number, all the spawns are centered around where players are.

Like JB says get missions forthe creature or creatures that have the resource you need. Use the advanced search facility at http://www.swgcreatures.comto find what what creatures on a particular planet have the resource you want. Then spend a little time, viewing all the missions that the mission terminal offers till you find one that asks you to kill that particular creature. Make a note of the payout and then look for further missions within 100credits of that payout making sure to check the details before accepting them, to be on the safe side.
Also, and this worked well for me on Tat when I started out, take your bike or mount and head from one city directly to the nearest, this will be a route that others have likely followed and so will have triggered lairs and creatures to spawn. I found on tat that particurley in the center on the map some of the tougher wild lairs had spawned, but only on or near the route from one city ti the other.

This is what I have found in my hunting:
Starter planets like Tat and Corellia don't have many wild spawns. EXCEPT around player cities. Doing regular missions on Tat for herb meat, it takes me almost all day to get 10k meat. I find hanging around the boundaries of player cities there are a -lot- more wild spawns. Give it a shot.

Something was done that totaly destroyed mid and high level random spawn on the newbe planets.
In raised my first character to master scout on dewback, ronto's, and banta's on tatooine last year, but now that I'm trying to make a ranger all I can find are nuna's and worts. Even in the furthest corners of the planet. Spent three hours the other night roaming tatooine and all I found harder then a nuna is one mountain wort lair. Now I'm down by Jabba's palace, which used to be surrounded by bantas and rontos. Nothing there now but newbe spawn. It was basically the same thing when I was roaming around corellia a couple weeks ago.

And the winner is Phenix1050: my next quote I almost fell down reading this!!
"You'd think chubba's would learn to stay AWAY from cities" NOOOO say the DEVS!! We would hate for the grinders to have to go to far our rely on the other professions to get it!!

This lack of spawn issue is the ugliest and most frustrating issue I face as a master ranger.
Even after they finally revamp rangers, what good are all of the cool new uber ranger skills
if there is nothing to hunt?
Right now as a gimpy-almost-master rifleman and master ranger, whenthere are creatures available, I cantake them down (slowly!) and have fun doing it. I may not at this time be thrilled with the uberness of the ranger skill sets, but I can live with that for a while longer, I guess and hope for better days.
But... no creatures...??? C'mon. Kinda hard to forgive that. Imho the Dev's need to look at this, pronto. Driving and walking and searching and tracking for hours as a ranger in the wilds of a planet and still not finding any creatures is no fun, frustrating, not realistic and b.s.
Can you imagine parachuting into the Serengettiof Kenyaand finding itcompletely desolate: empty for miles and miles and miles?Or the Yukon in Alaskaas vacant: not a bird, bear or moose?
I don't buy the notion that the spawns are hard coded, can't be fixed, blah blah, yadda, whatever. Other games have spawn systems that work fine. This spawn system is broken. And its killing my enjoyment of the game.

Tyro, you need to get off the newbee planets, check out Dath and Endor, there are almost too many wild lairs.
