Hi,
I've been a Master Ranger for quite a while now. My 2nd profession was Rifleman, which was great. I got bored with it and decided to try a melee profession. I'm now a Master Swordsman and enjoy it quite a bit, especially since I'm not locked into one type of damage (kinetic and blast), which allows me to solo tons of stuff. Obvsiously, I need to keep novice medic, in order to heal up after those pesky diseases.
The TK meditation line would (in theory) allow me to drop novice medic. Can anyone provide some insight for me? TK and Rifleman are the popular choices for meditation and conceal shot respectively.... my only concern would be the PvE effects of only performing kinetic damage as a TKM.
Thanks

Hi,
Im going up the ranger line to master ATM. I was Master Commando/ MTK and novice medic. I'll be able to keep MTK, novice medic and master ranger when done. The TK med. line is great for wound healing and effect heals, but doesnt help with the quick heal, which I need in some situations. But it sure is nice to heal up DOT's when out grinding on Rancors of all types. Yeah, I too am worried about only dealing out Kinetic, I was even thinking about Swordsman as well/ Too bad our new TK weapons didnt make it out of TC...

Ingriguing. No armor? Sweet. What things can't you solo as TK then? I know there are a few 'flavors' of nightsisters, etc.. that have 100% resist to kinetic. Some of the 'Cavemen' on Dantooine do too.
I'd love the meditation line from TK with the master swordsman title.... but I just can't bring myself to drop Master Ranger.
In short, does TK limit you to things you can't kill (and only tank) due to 100% kinetic resists? Do you still keep Novice Medic, and use it?

The only bad part about TK is being constrained to Kinetic damage. It has the best mods of any profession. Accuracy, toughness, not the best state defenses but still good. Fencer has the best state defenses, but TK's toughness is so high you dont really need any armor.
On a side note, one of my characters is master ranger/master swordsman. Its fantastic, I love it. I ran around endor unarmored and buffed, and only had to worry about mantrigue screechers cause of the incredible disease they wield.

swords all the way. tka meditation is nice, but a HTFB with a medical droid is quite nice. carry some wound packs on a storage droid to save on space issues.

Thanks folks... that's the feeback I've been looking for. I chose swords as my original brawler profession for reasons mentioned, and am considering TK for other reasons mentioned. I'll keep swords for a while... nothing like solo harvesting 60K dath carni meat per buff....
Thanks!
Thanks!
