After much much much hunting (and visiting of yard sales) our Antarian Guild on Kauri is about to create our first Creature Recycler. We've had this as sort of a group quest for while (well OK, I've been obsessing about it for a month and the others decided to help me out so I stop wandering around the Guild Hall with a brandy in each hand muttering "spinnerbud... spinnerbud" under my breath).
Well last night we finally gather the last item needed and, armed with the "recycler crafting bug workaround" from the Loot forum, we hope to have one available by the weekend (asuming Jaalt skipped work today like he promised). As an interesting side note, while we were hunting parts for our creature recycler we also found that we were looting dozens of "Bothan Shaver Motor Schematics" so if anyone needs them drop me a note.

I turned several useless piles of junk meat, hideand bone into the stuff I carry to craft traps and camps. Instead of 5 small piles, one big pile of meat, bone and hide each. Makes life much easier.

This is why I can't wait to get mine made!

Forgive the ignorance or a self absorbed M.Ranger with an obsession for credits...but...what is a creature recycler? What do they do? And how do you make them?

with a Creature Recycler you can take a collection of resourcse (from any spawn) and turn them into a single stack of basically grind resources. At least that's how its been explained to me.
Think about it like a grinder that takes all the different parts of the pig and makes them into a hot dog!
I'm working on an article at SWGRanger.com (shameless plug) that discusses how to get the parts. All the info is there about what drops them, I just haven't gone over the dificulty completely yet.

Looking forward to finally having access to one of these thru the guild. I've got one house which has ended up filling up with scraps for grinding.
Oh the joy of seeing >100 items reduced to just one of hide, one of meat and one of bone. It also means I'll never hear this again "Oh 'ken, I was getting REALLY good results grinding medic crafting last night... Yes, of course I was in practise mode... what do you mean 'the wrong bag of stuff'??? Why do you want to duel me? How did I end up outside the hall? I can't get back in... "
1000 OQ carni meat. Most other stats in the high 800's. I'd had it for months.... Stupid medic.

That about sums it up. And since I don't care about quality of resources for my traps and tents, they work in the factory just fine!

Spinner blades seemed to have been the hardest to find on Kauri, at least until we realized that they only seemed to drop from Hidden Dagger Missions and not randam spawn. The Wire seems easy to find, and the Recycler Schematics themselves are showing up now on the bazaar for 6k each. It looks like the Tuskin looted Feed Tube is now the hardest part to obtain, that may be because, I believe, it is used in multiple recyclers.
Based on information both gather and posted (in this Forum DaveG has previously supplied most of this) I have put together the follow quick guide for myself while out hunting.
Creature Recycler Parts List and Source Information
Item Notes Count Source Planet

Creature Recycler Schematic 1x Alkhara Tatooine
Fiberplast 50x Digging Any
Steel 50x Digging Any

Notes:
(1) Hidden Dagger Missions only. Do not seem to drop from random spawn.
(2) Corsair Captains seem to have a higher drop rate than others
(3) Used to craft the Agitator Motor which is a component of the recycler
Also, if you ckeck the Loot forum, there is a well tried workaround for the current Recycler Crafting Bug.

Well, my first impressions of the new vendor searching was good last night.
I found a creature recycler schematic on Dantooine for 2,500 and a few red wires and pulverizers on Talus for 100 credits each.
I love a bargain!

Ditto. I turned all my small stacks of crappy grinding organics in multiple 100k stacks that make it easy to carry around, or give to friends who need some cheap organics.

So Jaalt logged in last night and we chatted about the recycler. He went off to read the Loot and Quest forum to make sure he had the "bulletproof, always works, Creature Recycler crafting bug workaround" committed to memory...can you see where this is going?
I then see the following from him...
"Here I go"
....
"crap"
So I assume that we have suffered a bit of a setback in the deployment of our first recycler. I'll keep you informed.
Good hunting and clear skies,
