Hello everyone.

This is an up-date to yesterdays later patch, regarding Scouts and Rangers.

Tracking is not in the game yet, so there is no info.

Area-tracking: Seems to be working well. there are three things you can track, Animals, people, and Players. A window pops up and you choose an action, Animal, people or player. After you click which action you want, the window scans the area for the action you requested. After the scan the window re-appears and you can select which Animal, people or player you want. The area-track will show you the info it received: Example, Spinflaps 1150m S. Remember that the track comes in skill grade. First skill learned, Animal, second is People, third is Players.

Now I’ll talk about EXP for Rangers.

Crafting Camps now give exp to wilderness Survival. I received 170 exp of wilderness survival for crafting the Basic Field camp. After I set up a camp, I received, 1120 exp for a 24 minute camp, 1145 exp for a 27 minute camp. These camps where done solo, no other player in them.

Traps are giving exp to wilderness Survival also. I crafted a Sonic Pulse trap and received 100 Wilderness Survival exp for crafting the trap.

There are some things Rangers get exp for that Scouts don’t.

AreaScan is no longer in game on the test center. AreaTrack is in play

Conceal kits. The kits are a very nice Add-on but the kits really need to stack. Three kits to a pack is just to small a stack. stack of 500 would be nice so when grouped we don’t have to spend all our time crafting kits. this will also allow us to store kits for up-coming events that take groups to accomplish. So please consider: (Stacking for Kits). That will also cut down on the amount of items in the backpack.. Seems that Sony will either have to allow us to carry more items in our backpack. Adding new items to the game with know were to store them, is not going over very wellI have been told many times.

Hope that helps you Scouts and Rangers.

I'm not sure I understand this. They gave you a day to play with areascan, and now you are playing with areatrack? *Maybe I need more coffee*

Areascan has been removed for the game and replaced with, Areatrack.

Hope that helps you Solusander.

Now give me your coffee and go rest,

BTW, the basic field camp does not repell creatures. Have light blue spiders attacking me in camp while I'm trying to write this answer.

What is the difference here? What am I missing? You make a distinction here that I am thinking would be the same thing.

Help me!

Only change is permanent.

Tracking is supposed to be an ability where a Ranger can pick a creature to hunt and create a "mini-mission" to that creature's lair/spawn. So lets say I was looking to add to my gnort army of pets, I could set my Tracking to create a gnort lair for me to locate.

That is the simplified view. The idea is that the Ranger can choose what to look for and not just "see what is in the area."

Guys,

Reread the correspondent report.

/areatrack - This is the renamed "/areascan" command. Let's you search out general areas where creatures are and gives you a general idea where to find them.

/track - This is the pinpoint command that will give you a waypoint to a certain NPC, player, or creature lair. It's more precise.

/areatrack is on Test Center. /track is still being coded.

I hope this clears up the confusion.

Kromus, thanks for the heads up. When do you think thease changes will go into production? I already love being a ranger now we're going to be that much more useful. I think the first thing I'll do with my new tracking ability is look for the grand daddy of all Krayt Dragons and take some screen shots for my gallery .

Chunk,

The XP isn't changing - you still need Scout XP for the tracking skill.

"No one is losing their titles."

- The development team did a nice job with the skill system.

- Because you need to SPEND your experience points to receive the skill box, you don't need to worry about increases in the cost AFTER you have paid for the skill.

- The only time we need to worry is if they chuck out an entire branch of a skill set. But in this case, they are simply reusing the Bioscience branch.

- Pats the design team on the back. Excellent job indeed
