Herbie is what the docs need/want/desire for stims. The OQ is what they are mainly looking for. The higher the numbers the better.

Avian is used in some buffs, I think, again a high OQ and high overall numbers.

The other types of meat I use myself, or sell to grinders who are just making stuff for XP. BEs making pet stims will buy about anything.

Remember, asa general rule, all animals that drop the same type of meat drop the same grade of meat... kill a bageraset for herbie, you get the same meat as a durni drops, the only thing that changes is the quantity.

Herbivore and Avian are in highest demand, Insect is next and the rest is just used as generic meat I think. Doctors/Medics need high OQ and PE (66% OQ and 33% PE) while Chefs need OQ, PE, and FL (not sure of the % split).

Interesting note on the same type resources comment. Currently on Gorath CorellianBegerasets drop Leathery Hide with a low OQ. Can't recall the exact number but it is not impressive, grinding quality at best. However,Rogue Begerasets are dropping Leathery with an OQ over 950, really good stuff, the other stats are high as well.

Been learning the Ranger trade with limited in-game time and yearn for the dayI:1) make Master, 2) convince someone who can fix it that Masters need to harvest lots of multiple resources, and 3) get to see resource quality on /examine. Plus a few other camp/trap fixes and /track, of course

Been reading the boards for a long time, for the new Rangers spend some time here. I rarely, if ever post... but I learn tons from this awesome community. Thanks. And to all the Gorath rangers who have taken time to train me... a special thanks. We may not have everything we want skills wise in the game, but we do have one thing other players don't.. a great professional community. I'll play Ranger for that alone.

Thanks for the replies.

I guess my 1100 units of naboo reptilian meat with 976 OQ isn't as valuable as I was hoping

Time to hunt for herbies then.

@Melly that meat is great and BEswill pay you quite some money for this. The bigger the stack the better. From what i see on the Gorath board Avian is always in dire need.

@Nhzuk if you are looking for training or a PA on Gorath, the Antarian Rangers Gorath formed two days ago. We have our HQ outside Coronet, Corellia. Just contact me or Takarin for information.

I meant there is more demand for avian as for reptile but the reptile isn't bad and you should get a good price for it. BEs and Chefs isell meat toare always happy about high OQ reptile meat.

Thanks again then.

But that kinda leads me onto the next question then...

What sort of price do you sell it for (cpu) ?

I've tried to read the bazaar but it's seems very random. I thought I'd try my luck last night with 1000 insect meat OQ 130 for 2750creds... it sold without a problem. Now I'm wondering if I was ripped off or I did the ripping off. Is there a formula ?

Thats a tough question and depends on the galaxy. Best would be if a ranger from your galaxy can answer the question. I for myself sell grind meat (low oq) for 2 - 4 cpu depending how good i know the customer. For the good reptile i wont go under 8 cpu.

Well sort of....

Herbavore meat is not always the best.

What medics are looking for are meat with, like you said the Highest Overall Quality, Secondary is the Highest Potential Energy.

The Effectiveness, healing power, of a stimpack is determined by:

Overall Quality: 66 percent

Potential Energy: 33 percent

Quantity of Charges is determined by:

Overall Quality: 66 percent

Unit Toughness: 33 Percent ( Pretty sure on this one but not 100% positive)

For batches over 1000, I charge 5cpu for grind quality meat (or hides, or bone).

You can't plop a harvester down on the back of a Kimogilla and harvest stuff by the thousands while you go off and do something else. Harvesting critters takes a good while, and you're pretty much stuck doing that and not doing anything else.

When people buy your animal-based resources, they are paying for your time (time that you could have used to run missions for cash and possibly faction), they are paying for THEIR time (time that they DON'T have to spend farming the stuff), and they are paying for the privilege of getting the stuff instead of someone else.

That's worth a minimum of 5cpu, in my estimation.

Higher quality goods go for higher CPU.

Another secret: Bulk is more important than quality in many respects. There are a lot of crafters who will pay more cpu for 20k of average-quality resources than they would for 2k of high quality resources. 20k will make for a nice factory run. 2k won't. So the more you have available when it comes time to find a buyer, the better off you'll be.

I said Herbavore Meat is not always the best.

Clarification: While the statement is true, Hebavore and Avian meat is specifically needed for Advanced Components.
