You have to look hard on the trade forums, they fall to the fith page very fast. The coming of the CU has realy borked things up also.
Realy to make a buck on fat stacks you need to know about good shifts before people ask. I take pride in telling most of my customers about them. Normaly I would elaborate about the big sellers and what kind of stats you are looking for yada yada. But..
Both the profs that pay us the most are totaly changing, Docs and ASs. In fact all the med crafting is going to BEs... These people have a tendency to stockpile any way so you're not going to see much action untill the CU hits Live in a few weeeks.
I could tell you how I've made my money, but there is very little action right now for me, and in just a few weeks its all going to change any way.
Do you're best to keep track of the new AS and BE schems, learn what they are, what needs what, and hope for the best.
Untill then if it moves kill it. I don't think you could go wrong hording any hide that isn't wooly with OQ+SR > 1600. A lot of ASs are going to get caught with thier pants down on those. ASs are going to need a lot of junk hides for the post Core combines also.

I saw one request in the trade forum:
"Iake, Tatooinian Scaley Hide
DR=997, MA=604, OQ=902, SR=852, UT=726
» Marked as available on Tatooine 3 days ago
Bset Drops from: Giant Sand Beetles"
It's the line "Marked as available..." I am curious about. Wherewas it marked?

And this is propably the same question as above. Where do I find out which creatures that have those qualities?

www.swgcreatures.com is the place to find what creatures has what type of resource on what planet.
If you want stats go for www.swgcraft.com, that's the place that they got the "marked as avalable" from.
I bet you a billion credits that is an AS. It matches up with a few of the new AS schems very well.
That hide is border line uBeR so get a good price. Or you could hunt a big stack of it and then lay it on the trade forums post CU... mwhahahahah. I would

Loool, I will consider doing just that
He was willing to pay 25cpu. Is that a good price? I seem to remember prices up to 150cpu+ but that was quite some time ago. I don't know what constitutes as a good price today.
/think I so need a mentor

25 cpu lol - bad. hehe Either he isn't a AS, or he is wouldn't like any one to catch on.
My server good AS hide is 50 - 100 cpu. It has been better here or there. When all the ASs that don't keep track of stuff freak out when the CU goes live... god knows what you will get for a 30k or better stack.

Aha, so a big no no to the 25 cpu .. thank you for that info
I have been looking at swgcreatures.com and I simply don't get it. How do you see what stats the different creatures have in resources. I must be blind or something but I really can't figure it out.
Edit:
I see now that I will have to use the swgcraft.com for finding what resources are good or not. The next question is how do you find out what creaturesto harvest this and that resource from?

A couple things for you:
- "Marked as available..." is SWGcraft's way of telling you how old a spawn is. Anything that was marked as available 10+ days ago is likely to shift to a new resource soon and could be hard to gather large amounts of.
- To search for creatures with specific resources on SWGcreatures.com, click on advanced search below the search box. This will go to a page that will allow you to set filters on just about every animal related attribute in the game (CL, meat type, planet, etc.).
- 25 cpu may or may not be a good price. All prices are server dependant and honestly, everything that can be sold is only worth what people will pay for it. What I mean is, even is a 1000 oq hide spawns on your server, if the people buying it will only pay you 50cpu, it's only worth 50cpu.
- You said you checked you trade forum for hunting contracts (YAY!!!!) and there weren't very many, but have you considered a post in which you offer your services to the masses (make sure to keep it bumped!)?
- WIth the uncertainty of the CU, and it's imminent arrival, there will probably be very few contracts out there. One thing you can do is, use SWG craft to find the good spawns, collect as much as you can, then save it until after the CU hits live. It looks like some professions will need fewer resources and others will need A LOT more, so you will have a whole new market come May.

and as others have pointed out, you simply CAN'T go wrong with hides this season. Between architects, tailors and the new AS requirements, it's going to be all about hides. Too bad for PETA, eh.

Just another thing I thought I'd mention...
I don't know how it's been on other servers, but on Starsider recently there haven't been a lot of people updating SWGcraft. It might be three weeks or more before someone updates a hide spawn. I've been going through trying to update resources myself as I've had time. But it's something simple everyone can do to help others out. When you kill and harvest something, just jot down the name and stats and see if it's something new to put on the site.

I still wish we had a device that required us to travel to a planet make 6-15 scans depending on Ranger level, and would tell us what natural resources were available on a planet. it would make updating the resource list a breeze.

Edited headline and wasted my entire message. Hmm, trying again.
Do you guys know a good place for finding the contracts?
I have tried looking at the Galaxy trade forum for Eclipse (not much there) and swg.allakhazam.com (which seems to be on the verge of a shut down) without much luck.
It's been a while since I've seen requests for particular ressources (could it be because the holy jedihood doesn't require any? ![]()
