Thread: Why I don't Drunk while Post: previously Why are you a Ranger?

Maybe he'd rather see his own name as the initial poster?
Just a guess, he must have been able to see that thread. It has mysteriously continued for a few weeks now.
It may just be continuing by the will of the magical noob melons of yesteryear. Who knows..
He is a long time Ranger, a long time poster, tested for us in the CU Beta and constantly on TC. He is vocal in bug threads and issue threads. He hosts SWGRanger. You may have recognized his name on over a 1000 helpful and positive posts on this forum alone. I seriously doubt he posted this to see his name in lights.
I guess it is possible that his forums were bugged.....
some times certain people's entire records of posts are unable to be viewed by anyone other than themselves, maybe that issue can cross over to different parties being unable to read it.
No need to be rude. First of all, Bil hasn't been around much lately, so maybe he didn't see the post (I never saw the other post either). Secondly, your attitude is a perfect example of how the ranger forums seem to have gone downhill in the past several months (maybe that's just my opinion, but it seems more hostile and... less "mature").
FYI, Bil is a long time ranger and in my opinion a good example of what the ranger forum used to be (less hostile.. more helpful.. suggesting improvements, rather than complaining -- despite the problems the profession has had for two years.. going to test center to test changes, rather than complain about changes before they even happen.. etc.. etc..).

Next time try to just point WildBil at the thread without being nasty about it.

No joke-- Bil's been around forever, and probably busy as hell testing, creating websites, and doing any number of things to help the profession. Cut the guy some slack.

Ok, everyone, I don't usually make assumptions on the motives of others' actions. I only do so when someone does not have an idea about it of their own.
I have given him the benefit of the doubt, as stated above. I don't know who you all are talking about needing to cut him some slack. Would you please clarify that?
As well, it wouldn't hurt to read the entire thread to see how someone's opinions and statements have changed throughout this thread's existence before labeling them as "flamers" and / or "trolls."
Gone downhill? Look, I just wanted to post the link to the new thread so he could spot it then direct himself there. It could've been a simple "Oh gee wizz, thanks" if he got around to replying, but instead it is insinuations that I somehow am trying to be mean to Bill.
The thread is still on the first page. It's still fairly active. I'm doing what the rules dictate to prevent double posts. It isn't my problem how it's read, I meant it just to be helpful, but if you're going to go believing that I'm somehow making fun of Bill for not seeing this other thread in anything else but a tounge-in-cheek manner, then that's your problem.
Sheesh, I try to help out and suddenly I'm some mean person for clickying the first reply to a thread that doesn't need to exist.

How else am I supposed to link someone to a thread without being direct? Is being concise being rude now?
Oh, gee.. I don't know. Asking if he was blind?
Well, to me that's rude, compared to saying "There was another post about this a few days ago", for example.
Was it meant sarcastically then? If so, the problem is that sarcasm can't be "heard" on the internet. So understand how I might have found that statement as "rude".
when Bil gets back from his "adventures with Phenix's step sister" trip... he's gonna check this thread and feel bad ... then he'll feel good that he was defended... then he'll feel bad again... then he'll go post in the directed thread...
no biggie...
it'squestion that we've all asked at one point, and it's a really nice thread... i'm looking forward to seeing Bil's answer...
