Wow, did the first person to do this in the last week and a half suddenly make everyone think "well, I guess it's ok if we add the disclaimer that this thread is off topic."
Do we really not have that much to talk about concerning our own profession? Sign if you agree.

I don't know.. doesn't hurt to have some non-serious discussion occasionally.
Besides, it beats the dev bashing, whining, and petition threads...

Since I'm still waiting for the Ranger revamp that Raph suggested was coming, oh, two years ago... I'd just be parroting myself. Do I really need to list the same bugs for a hundredth time? What if the bug counter is only a small signed integer, then it might wrap in only a few more listings and the devs will think they have to make more bugs to catch up! Aiiiieeeee!
I'm hungry, where are the riceballs at?

I think it is kinda nice to see something besides....'What templet do you suggest'....every day. It allso lets us poke fun at our friends. So no imo they do no harm.

The Ranger forums have always had the right blend of on-topic and off-topic posts. This forum isn't just "let's all complain about the same issues for the billionth time." I've seen forums like that and they are NOT fun to be a part of. The Ranger forums are a community, and like any community, we must balance work with play. People should have fun with the game, and the best part about the Ranger forums is that they maintain that "let's have fun" attitude.
I would hate to see the Ranger forum become like other forums where the only posts people make are usually complaining about one aspect or another of their professions...that's weaksauce. We're better than that.
Have a sip of punch, come down by the campfire and relax.

Wow, Phenix and I are on the same page lately
!
I was going to say that those OT threads (and hijacking of threads) are part of the community building that everyone is so proud/envious of.

i wholeheartedly sign this petition.
c'mon people, what is there to talk about other than the problems of being a ranger?
why do you have to be so short sighted, narrow minded and selfish?
cant you see that we have much bigger issues that the lives of the people and friends we have known for almost 2 years now?
/shakeshead.
so selfish.

You all do realize that I didn't say "aren't we supposed to discuss the issues regarding our profession," don't you?
It's just that before the last rash of OT threads, you didn't know they were OT unless you actually read them. I guess I have unresolved issues against capitalized letters.

what you're saying is that you like off topic thread that are a surprise. You don't like to see the off-topicness coming.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks tongue-in-cheek posts should NOT have a smiley or disclaimer giving it away in the same sentence or post...
