So I got tired of the ol' hunting and xp:ing thingies, andstarted doing some solo PvP recently. Lemme tell you - being a ranger in PvP is great fun!

I hung out about a km outside Bestine, doing areatrack constantly and keeping track of player movements in the area. The great thing about being aranger is that you know where they are - they don't know where you are, or even that you're coming. Surprise is the key. I can often get off two shots before they even know they're under attack. Or if they are too strong for me in direct combat (being a rifleman, I get owned by anyone with a pet), I throw off a mind shot, making them bleed mind, then I run away. After stalking them for a few minutes (they can run but they can't hide :smileywink I come back and finish them with a headshot or two.

Ranger may not be the best profession for direct combat, but for sneaky cowardly combat, we rock. Give it a try.

The Kitten's Diary, Day 781: I have discovered a most delightful way of making life miserable for my captors. Yesterday, I ate the woman's precious begonia, and today I have dismembered the amaryllis in the bedroom window. She is furious over the loss of her darling house plants! I find it highly gratifying.

Yup, I have a master ranger friend and oh man we can move quickly and silently stalking people or avoiding ambushes/hunting groups that are out looking for us, all while picking off reinforcments and stragglers. Oh man is it ever a blast, adds so much more depth to PvP.

I think that is why you use a rifle (long range).I love the idea of a player conceal ability... but then... EVERYBODY would be a Ranger! Be great if you could conceal your whole party. Can you imagine it? The amount of havoc you could cause.... (dreaming) Wow. Too much havoc. Devs would never go for it. Can you imagine what they would be screaming on the Pistoleer boards? BHs probably wouldn't mind so much! It would be fun though, even for only a week.... Maybe we could suggest it to the Devs as like, a birthday present for NRaas. The ability to conceal players for one day. Hehehehehehehe.

Since I'm experiancing the 1 combat xp bug and my pets don't remember a command to save there own hides I was bored out of my skull on Naboo. Another Master Ranger I know gives me A Tell asking that I get all the Imps I can get to Help Defend the ROME base South of Mos Eisley.

I conceal unequip my rifle and burst run to Kaadraa, Hop a transport and Im on Tat. Went Overt, met up with him and ran for the base. (I even forgot to clone )

(pretty lame soo far I know)

We get there and there is about 50-55 Overt Imp PC's with more in route, and a couple of scout camps out. A few of the group leaders shout to Sketch and I to drop a couple of High Tech's. I about Passed out.

Medics Crafting, Me working on conceal kits, and areatracking looking for movement on the north side, Sketch was on the south side Tracking as well.

I was wanted not because of my weapon skills (well ya Rifleman sporting a Jawa Ion) but because of my Ranger Skills , Tracking. After about 30 min or so Rebs appeared to be no shows, So we all marched to Anchorhead.(Where I promptly Cloned)

Tracking in Route

The next 3 hrs was the most fun I've had to date. Standing in the middle of a battle, In the middle of Anchorhead. As Overt no less and Enjoying it. (At this point some might argue even a chef can do that) Yes they can. I saw **edit** near every class in the game present. Granted it was Laggy as all He11.

I enjoyed it and from the way I see things thats the most important thing.

Did Ranger effect my pvp ablity ? I can really say.
Maybe I dodged a shot or melee attack or two, Some one might have missed me a few more times then usual. I can't really say
I do know I was wanted for my tracking and camps. He11 I'm not gonna argue with that. Thats better than nothing.

To each there own.

Nice!

I got a thrill seeing my camp on the planetary map.. .seriously. A bit silly, but my head immediately started swimming with potential. There is a general consensus the faction acquisistions showing up on our camps is miscoding -- but it is very nice and a hopeful indicator of where Ranger is going.

I have to ask though -- and yes, I appear to be the only one interested -- but were pets showing on your tracking? I've posted two threads on the issue w/no response.

Pets as In NPC pets? I tried a few tracks for npc's but standing next to an Imp Base I was only getting stormtroopers and Jawa's before my count limit

Pets as in CH pets? Nope not a one, as a matter of fact even around Kaddarra on a bizzy day. I don't get them on areatrack.

Just another means of showing that tracking is the best Ranger line. PvP: player tracking, PvE: increased harvests and bonuses. Trackingis very tempting once I finish Master Bounty Hunter.

Sorry for being the basted spelling Nazi, but that would be guerilla tactics. Gorilla tactics would be what those big gorillas do all day, lol. Wait, was this posted before above me? Sorry, didn't read the whole post, I'm very impatient.
