Thread: what should i sell this wooly for?
i got 2 stacks of the stuff.
rori wooly hide(6k of it):
mall 900
oq 550
sr 112
some more rori wooly hide(4k of it so far(just shifted)):
mall 62
oq 600
sr 450
really depends on the server.
but if it was on flurry, you would probably have to sell the first batch somewhere between 5-10cr/unit to get any of it to sell. The 2nd batch is pretty useless, 3-4cr/unit.
The reasoning behind this is because:
1. OQ is big in armorsmithing (the people who usually buy wooly).
2. SR is more important for Composite Armor than Mal. It's not necessarily BETTER... SR affects the Effective stats of the armor, while the Mal affects HAM cost. More people are willing to buy armor with higher % effectiveness with higher HAM, than the other way around, which is why SR is more important (to the armorsmith at least).
3. It's from Rori. If this was from a planet like Endor, Dantooine, or Dathomir, it would be different. Anyone can kill easy stuff on Rori, and get the same hide. If there was demand for this stuff, it would be way too easy to come by.
4. The only other people who would buy this are furniture makers, who use wooly for couches and beds. They don'r care about quality, so they're only going to pay up to 4cr/unit MAX.
Hope this helps a little.

I have to disagree on this one, If I need herbivore meat, and someone offers 800+ OQ meat to me, i'll pay the same no matter where it comes from.
It's a scarce resource, just like good wooly, therefore the origin makes no difference.
you really think so?
Right now on Flurry, there's wooly hide that has OQ and SR high enough that when added it's over 1900. If this was found on any advanced planet, it would definitely fetch at least 25 if not 30credits per unit. It's on Tatooine... hard to find buyers who are willing to pay over 15cr/unit because it's so easy to hunt. I mean sure, if there was a resource shift, the prices would skyrocket, but if something is found on a relatively easy planet, it can be farmed by almost anyone. More product leads to undercutting, and refusal of buyers to pay as much as they would if a material of the same stats was found on a harder planet.
It's not a matter of YOU buying the resource... it's a matter of people offering you lower prices than me because it was easy for them to hunt, regardless of quality. This also brings into picture the scenario in which you don't feel the need to spend money because the hunting is easy enough that you can do it yourself, even if you're not an expert combat class. This is why I think that the origin of the product really does affect the price that people are willing to pay... maybe not in a direct way, but it does affect it.
oh, i don't deny that... haha i'm hanging onto mine for dear life.
but i don't understand how you can deny that where it's from doesn't affect the amount that is in circulation, which was my original point... that easier planet = easier kills = more circulation ----> lower prices.

nono
you said the easier planet makes for lower prices, which i disagree with.. it's not the planet, it's the amount.. it can just as well be a harder planet, but with better harvests. Like if Dathomir Wild Meat suddenly cycled to be really good, no one would pay very much for it (well, even if it was a specific requirement of wild meat in something) since all the CHs missioning on Dath bring in tens of thousands of that meat all the time anyway.
BUT, make that corellian herbivore, you are hard pressed to find anything that drops herbivore in any decent amounts, and that drives prices up, even though it's an "easy planet".
I've been trying to offer people 15 cpu for the current corellian herbivore on Eclipse and only gotten one person to harvest it in a weeks time.
lol, i've been harvesting herbivore meat from endor... got a little over 4k of it now. too bad you're not on Flurry... OQ880's, PE 660's

anyway.... we digress from original post... the wooly stated wouldn't go for that much. haha
Also he's right about the amount. Few weeks ago Corellian herb meat was simply awesome on Radiant (PE+OQ= 1840+). And it was a looong shift for some reason, like over two weeks. I must have harved over 120k of it. Yeah, it was boring slaying durnis, bagerasets, krahbus, paralopes, and whatever else day after day hour after hour, but I won't care come space expansion and I'm cruising the galaxy in the S.S. Wookranger (translation: I got paid well).
Which brings up another counterpoint. Just because it's an easier planet, doesn't mean people are willing to go out and mass-harvest the goodies like us rangers. Usually it's more like they take a few durni missions to kill time, get a few hundred units, then sell it and forget all about it. That's why crafters are so desperate for a steady supplier, and rangers need to take advantage.
Find an architect. The stats on the wooly are not great, lower level armorsmiths will use it i ssupect. However, most archtects will buy wooly (stats dont matter) for 4-5 creds per unit. It is used in a few types of furniture.
