They will still need to pay property tax.

This could happen before this patch, btw...all the person had to do was declare residence somewhere else.

/cityban them and that should help move them along.

by the way, city ban does not stop people from using your shuttle, so kind of pointless!

Hmm, I thought it did? A ban only lasts for 24 hours though so you would have to do it repeatedly.

I still think we should have a non-citizen income tax for residents of the city. Lol, right now there is very little incentive for people to actually be a citizen

Make a citizen discount on shuttle travel.

My understanding was that cityban DOES stop people from using the shuttleport in the sense that it stops them from being able to buy further tickets, so they would still be able to use a return ticket for example but they could not purchase or possibly use tickets purchased after /Cityban this lessens the "Grief" potential with getting someone out to your city miles away from anywhere and banning them so they have to run or ride through hell to get anywhere else.

I have not tested this fully so i could well be wrong but im certainly going to have a go at finding out ill post the results of my experiment later unless someone else has tested this properly.

I was thinking today.. what happens when a citizen revokes thier citizenship within the city they live in? I mean I know this is a necesarry feature because sometimes when you leave a city you are stuck with that city's citizenship as a bug. I am concerned though that some cities may have to deal with the occasional idiot who may decide.. "hey I can still live in the city in a prime location for a shop and NOT pay taxes, yeah!" Then revoke thier citizenship and we are stuck with this non-productive house/person taking up space and using our facilities without contributing. Short of city-banning (which would suck!) that said person I don't see a solution. Is there a fail-safe in place to prevent this from happening ? i.e. "revoke citizenship gives you a message saying "you have 10 days to depart this city".

I mean really can you imagine going up to the mayor of "fill in whatever RL city you live in" and saying.. ya know.. I dont wanna be a citizen anymore, or pay taxes, but im still going to live in your city and use your services?

Maybe I'm being snarky but Corellia is HARD to build on.. we need every available lot for productive citizens that count towards our rank. I hope I never have to deal with this situation in my city but I really would like a response on how this works.

By the same line, I think the Mayor of the city should also have power to revoke citizenship of citizens that have become troublemakers and have the ability to force them to move out.. this would also help with the "ghosted" houses problem which will become prevalent in about 6 weeks.

If someone does this then simply /Cityban them , i know its not ideal but if having a house their is that important to them then they are not going to like being unable to use civic structures.

you might not have noticed this but even people that are not citizens pay taxes on structures in your city, just like a factore, they just dont have the right to vote or anything

Furthermore if they have vendors and you have sales tax in place, you still make money off them.

I run a City on Farstar. I have 2 declared citizens who are unwelcome in the City. I cannot ban them.

Thats a fact!. I have tried the /Cityban option and you get an auto response stating you cannot ban a Citizen. I have reported this and have been advised that it is a fact - you cannot ban a citizen who has declared residency in your city. Ok they pay taxes etc but that really isnt good enough.

Yeah it was changed (or more accurately fixed). Used to be you could cityban and warn citizens...which isn't really appropriate seeing as they are part of the city that the militia are supposed to be protecting.

I still think there really needs to be some sort of 'nomination' where citizens can nominate someone they want kicked out, then you would need like 2/3rds majority vote from the citizens to get them kicked out. Dunno what that would entail...maybe they wouldn't be allowed to put anymore maintenance into their house...they can move in their own time, but they can't keep the house beyond its currently paid for maintenance.
