Politician Archive
Thread: New Mayor Question. *Sorry Guys*
Politicians receive 100xp per vote that they receive in elections. Election results are weekly and run in tandem with the placement of the city hall. One week (game time not real time) after the city hall is placed, the election will be over and the politicians involved get the appropriate xp. Citizens can vote and change their vote during the week, but tallies are only done at the city update time. If a citizen does not vote, the vote goes to the incumbent mayor.
Examples:
A city of 100 people with a mayor and nobody else running, the mayor will get 100x100 xp after the city update. 10,000 xp.
A city of 100 people with a mayor and one other politician running against the mayor. The other politician gets 10 votes. The other politician gets 10x100 or 1,000 xp, the mayor gets the rest of the votes (whether the people voted or not) and gets 90x100 or 9,000 xp.

24 hrs in real life is not 24 hrs in the game. Say for example it is 10pm your time andyou start afactory runthatwill take 24hrs to complete. It will not complete in 24hrs because the server is not up for 24hrs. Each day there are the reboots and downtime for patches and such. When my city was first places on day 1 of the player city patch, that was on a Thursday I believe. Updates to the city are every 7 days. Well, after all this time, my city now updates Tuesday mornings.
If the server is not up and running, the game time does not run. So 24hrs can actually be upwards of 28hrs depending on reboot and code patches etc.
Just to avoid confusion:
"Game time" is often used to mean the in-game time of day (sunrise, sunset, etc). This runs 8x faster than real time.
"Real time" is what we are all (hopefully) living in. ![]()
"Uptime" is the amount of Real Time when the servers are up and running.
Elections take place every week of Uptime.
