Fellow Politicians,

I have read with great interest all of the posts on this forum, and I applaud the many new and exciting ideas that have been put forth through the posts. I must admit I enjoyed the rise up through the ranks to attain Master Politician, but since we could not get the skill box to mean anything nor any attention from the devs I have given it up. I am still the mayor but no longer a Master Politician. I had hoped to offer my city something better in the way of bonus to their efforts, but the silence has been deafeningconcerningthe majority of our issues. Perhaps in the future we will be able to be Masters and have it mean something, but that day is not today.

I Totally agree! 77 skill points for for this?

We are not really politicians! We are janitors!

"Akasha... will you dump the smuggler trainer? I'm done with it now.I need a riffleman trainer, my next holo said riffleman"

"Akasha... can you place a fountain by my house?"

"Akasha... can I have a street lamp?"

"Akasha... my holo said master armor smith, Will you put in an armorsmithtrainer?"

"Akasha... I want a garden near my house"

"Akasha... I want to move my house, will you help me?"

"Akasha... I need to place a factory can you grant me zoning rights?"

All day every day.... I used to be a master tailor... but what politician actually has the TIME to play the game?

and then there is the game system maint......

"Eamil from City Hall.... Your city maint of 549000 has been paid"

HA! ya for this WEEK only!

I love our city ... it is gorgeous... our citizens are very happy with the finished project. But seriously, the devs haven't given me any reason at all to want or need to be a master politician. *Clicks in the surrender skills button*

Really sad if you think about it. Politicians are the hardest working people in the game, yet we get little reward for our efforts in the way of devs fixing what ails our class...... and absolutely no reason whatsoever to stay master

I agree with the first two posts here. I'll be Master in two weeks. I just don't understand why the devs think we have an incentive to Master Politician? It's not that there is something that isn't good to it, there is NOTHING offered from it. They should really think about making it cost like 1/2 or 1/4 the skill points to do politiican, that is the fair thing to do. Most politician skills are one shot anyway. And it's not like there are going to be thousands of politiicans; why not let those who do have it be able to advance in other professions as well? I am VERY frustrated by the total lack of usefullness gained from the skill point useagae and the TOTAL disregard from the Devs for this. Player cities is a great concept to introduce into this game, but it is so half baked. We ALL want /citywarn back and nothing. We ALL want player garages, and NOTHING. We want more decorations, such as roads; and we get NOTHING.

I enjoy being Mayor, it is a good RP instrament. I think my citizens believe I'm doing a decent job. We're primarily a guild city, and I've began to ask if someone else wants to do that job. I wish we'd get something from the devs.

They do need to restore (or invent) some Master skills. Right now the only "perk" at Master (besides the badge)is the ability to train another Master, which is a bit circular.

If they're not going to let Masters do anyhing special, they should drop the skill point cost from 6 to 2. Right now you're spending big points on nothing.

I don't blame people for giving it up if they need the points for something else - since it costs no votes to get it back later, only AXP...

d00d: "No, I need Novice Brawler."
me: "There is a brawler trainer in Bestine."
d00d: "Bestine is too far away though."

Completely Agree...may I tell a story now

Guy: "Do we have a pikeman trainer"

Me: "I got no idea, check the terminal, I change trainers daily"

Week later

Guy: "Did you put in that trainer yet"

Me: "Maybe, did you check the terminal yet?"

Guy: Silent

Few more days

Guy B: "Put in a Commando trainer"

Guy: "Not before my pikemen trainer!"

I go into town, both trainers had been there for weeks.

I feel like I've crippled myself by volunteering to be the mayor. Its a one shot thrill that doesn't last. They need to cut the cost of skill points AND give us some more stuff.

Most professions you can see the progression of being "trained" and getting better skills. Politicials get better at their profession by learning how to drop a shuttleport or garden, thats really pretty weak.

Ahhh, the wonders of Politician. I know what there was when I volunteered to be the Mayor of our city. I had fun to start with. Altho I was only 8 hrs a day and never did anything for myself. I purchased a second account hoping I would have fun with that one, but I could never do anything because all the /tells I received on my Mayor I started to receive on my alt and having to logout and relog to add a trainer or do a /grantzoningrights was ridiculous.

I had to kick half the people out of the militia after the /citywarn was removed because half the people were abusing it and placing about 20 buildings in the city, then moving stuff out of the city because they didn't like paying taxes. The city was a mess and I would have loved to clean it up, but no way you can get 100+ people organized to move their house 2 zoning blocks.

2 weeks ago I had my nervous breakdown and decided to quit as Mayor. I was one of the lucky few who want to resign and someone stepped in and won the election within 3 days of my decision to step down. I have left my Mayor character Okie intact and have been playign my alt. And I haven't had this much fun in the game since I joined in July. This game is great!

I'm afraid to dump Master Politician, because just my luck, Master Politician will be allowed to be starship owners or commanders or something in the Space Expansion or there will be a new Republic government created and I coulda been a senator or governor or something.

Until then, I play my alt, grinding FP, doing quests. Holy crap this game is fun whe you have nobody sending you 1000 tells a minute demanding you help them.
