If I surrender my skills as a politician will it remove me as mayor from a city and make the other person running mayor. I recently wanted to resign as mayor of a city b/c of real life circumstances and me only being able to be on two to three hours out of the whole week.

Someone else is running for mayor but I got re- elected b/c not enough people voted for the other candidate.

Can I surrender and kick myself out of the position?
