About 1 month ago our old mayor, whom I knew for 5 years, said he was leaving SWG for City of Heros. This was not before pulling up all the decorations and trainers. Well our city needed continued leadership so I ran for mayor. Days after telling him of this he reactivates his account, and begins threatening me and then the citizens who were voting for me that he would destroy the city.

Well 2 weeks ago everything went down, and he destroyed the city hall, and our sprawling metropolis / Research Center was gone. I was prepared for this, and dropped a city hall in it's place, but not before the damage was done. Then to add insult to injury before I could set up zonig he dropped extractors where the SP, and cloner once stood.

I quickly submitted a CSR ticket and enlisted the aid of our GREAT Politician Corr. The ticket was forwarded to the CSR Supervisor. However, somehow it did get lost so I submitted a 2nd request, ad it was quickly responded to by a CSR who helped us get the city restored.

Read our story, and know there is hope if this happens to you.

I'm glad things all worked out ok in the end! I'm happy that I was able to get the ticket forwarded to the right hands quick enough to save the city for you.

I don't think that there is much hope. We had the same problem on Talus/Gorath as well where a player decides to run as a politician (city name was "Visit eXoras mall"). The mayor destroyed the city hall. The CSR told usthe same thing as ever (I think it is an F-key) "We are sorry for this inconvinience, but we cannot do anything...." and the ticket was closed.

Greetings,

man thats what I keep tlaking about..MAyors who flip out when someone else runs...Cities are NOT the mayors personal property!

and in this case the Mayor was AWOL from the game and left his city to rot, and didnt care about his citizens, then he goes off and stomps around like a 6-year old. Disgusting

If a Mayor is willing to destroy a town in order to block a contender then he was a crap mayor to start with.

Im glad it worked out for you (and besides even if some loser deletes city hall, you can put a new one up where the old one was and off you go)

Good luck with your newly restarted city! :-)

Yeah, I know that. I was ina guild which will re-name namless, and he wanted to move to a diffrent city, after I put all the effort into finding a area to put it, and recruiting 20+ citizens. So when he decides to move the town, and not everyone wants to do it, he does it anyway. We lost all that money we put into the City Hall. So i start my own city and they start harrasing me and spreading lies about my character. If that is not a bad mayor/griefing, then i don't know what is.

I'm happy Circinius is back, but I'm gonna play the devil's advocate here.

As mayor, that guy had every right to destroy the city hall. What he did afterwards was out of line, but if he put his time and energy into building and paying for the city, it should be his option to destroy it when he thinks the time is right.

Discuss.

Actually what he did was Grief this other player by Reactivating his account and destroying the city. Once he was told that there would be a New Mayour, He out of spite, Re-Activated his account and Threatened the other players, and this is considered Griefing their Playing Enjoyment. He could have easily just given it up and wished the new Mayour good luck instead of becoming a Jerk and griefing the Players.

Granted, yes It's a Mayours Right to destroy the city if they built it, but when you say that you hav canceled your account and leave the game, it should be that those rights are revoked. If I decided to quit the game, and one of my Citizens wanted to run for Mayour, I would have been Honoured as they cared enough to keep it going.

But to Reactivate your account After you canceled it Just to Spitely Destroy something because someone else wanted to take over and keep it going for you, that's not only griefing, but also Very rude and Very Inmature.

I'm so happy to see that the Senior Supervisors are getting involved in the players that are being Griefed and harassed and abused...after all They Should be...SOE made the rules and they should Inforce them.

Congratulations on getting the City Restored and Good luck.
